Agreed, but it would give us a fighting chance.

Also, Rodri is the best in the business but his fitness can’t be relied on consistently next season imo and Pep has already spoke about that too.

Spot on.We are all praying Rodri comes back the same player but we just do not know. He could easily get injured again or not have the mindset to get stuck in which would be playing at the back of his mind.Luiz ticks all the boxes for now.

Chucking O'Reilly into this team would be criminal. You can't just throw a kid into a team under this much pressure, in this much chaos...there's a 1% chance he keeps his head above water and a 99% chance he makes the same mistakes every kid makes, but we get punished for them and it costs us games and ruins his confidence and puts back his development 2 years.

Look at the difference with Rico Lewis playing in a settled team on the front foot, and a team in trouble. It's night and day, and he had 50 games for City and a treble winners medal behind him.

I think it's just about OK to throw in someone like McAtee or Bobb because when forwards make mistakes there's a lot less blame thrown around. Doing it to defensive players is cruel.
 
Can’t believe people on here are turning their noses at Tchouameni. He’s got everything we want physically in a midfielder, and would be great both next to Rodri or in place of. He’s also got a good shot on him. Can see him adding goals to his game like Yaya & Rodri did once they moved here.

Rumours are Madrid are after Kimmich. If that does happen, I think they’ll spend big on a centre back.

Wouldnt mind him, just dont think they'll sell this window or he'll be a target come summer either.

Its the exception. Easy to look at the biggest transfers from the last few years and if the top players do move, its generally to a Champions League team (Barring those goin for the cash in Saudi or for the cash to the Rags). It will compromise us significantly if we don't qualify. Got to accept that reality!

This suggests a player would rather move to a Forest side that has just finished third after avoiding relegation the last two years over a City side that have come fifth after four titles on the bounce

I don’t believe that’s the case. In terms of stature, pull, salary, trophy opportunities etc City’s allure is barely dampened by one season out of the Champions League

The truly hungry, ambitious players we want will be MORE excited about being part of Pep’s rebuild, if anything

With that logic most of the midfielders shouldn't be playing then because they've all been completely shite for majority of the last 2 and half month. Akanji is having his worst season since he arrived in his natural position, and Stones can't stay fit and now we are supposed to believe they are the answer. No one is saying these youth lads are the second coming of Fernandinho, but if we aren't buyin ti the simmer what's currently out there isn't working, playing two unfit and or out of form CB seems more ridiculous than a kid whose natural position is CM.

I’d much rather we drop serious money on Baleba tbh. You’d get 10 years out of him

Madrid distanced themselves from Kimmich in Marca yesterday.
