It's gone worse up here in top Duky than it was this morning.
I only live 2 miles from you and it's been fairly calm in Stalybridge, a few big gusts now and then but that's it.It's gone worse up here in top Duky than it was this morning.
Red warning ends in 45 minutes but it’s still blowing bloody hard. The strength of the gusts are unreal. Blowing heavy pots and garden furniture around like they are fallen leaves. Trellis has been ripped off the wall too. Power still on (prays and crosses fingers and toes).
You had any damage mate?It seems to be calming down out west (we are within the red zone). By calming down, I mean back to normal winter stormy high winds, rather than what we had most of today. You are probably a bit behind us and we are maybe a bit behind ireland as it seems to move east. So hopefully not long left.
A bit of nuisance damage that will need repaired or replaced but nothing to complain about, in the grand scheme of things. You had any damage mate?
Same. Just watching a cherry picker with a robot saw taking down a huge tree that has fallen across the main road 40 yards from the house. Road closed and lots of activity. Have to say they have acted very quickly.A bit of nuisance damage that will need repaired or replaced but nothing to complain about, in the grand scheme of things.
We said that when we went out for a walk at lunch
Wind aside, nicest I've seen it for a few months!

I had a dust bin blow over but apart from that everything survived:-)Our power went at home at 07.50 this morning and at work at 08.30. I left work at 10.45 to get home as the majority of routes had been closed and we have just got power back on at 16.45 so kudos to the network guys as it’s bleak outside.
I’ve lost part of the roof on my car port but other than that, we have come through ok.

Hang tight Jim.If I can, I will. Christ knows when I'll be able to post it, mind. No mobile signal (calls or data) where I live since sometime during the night; this is being posted from 10 miles away.
We survived last years tornado almost intact apart from a few fence panels and a dislodged ridge tile this was like a summer breeze by comparison :-)Aye, life goes on mate ;-)
You live in Kent, the "build up" in the news was designed for Northern Ireland and Southern Scotlandm several hundred miles away, where it's been exactly as they were warned.I'm not saying for one moment saying that it hasn't been bad in some areas. This is about the 4th storm this winter which has been a yellow or amber warning in our area. Again nothing really happened a few bins blown over. People around here are getting pissed of with warnings for what is a normal winter storm.
Thing is if the met office keep issuing warnings and it doesn't happen, people will start to ignore them. We're had about 5 days build up to it on the news etc, and than basically nothing
Hopefully mate yesI only live 2 miles from you and it's been fairly calm in Stalybridge, a few big gusts now and then but that's it.
You going in Alex before the game, mate?
