Great performance all round, the Uzbek Ben Thatcher had a nightmare start but played well after that. Bernie has certainly been on the caffeine drinks, the Energizer bunny couldn't keep up. The fleet footed Egyptian the debate will be is his chant to Bohemian Rhapsody or Babushka - couple of ones for the FOCs! Anyway he looked pacy aggressive and inventive. Him n Erl will pull a few defenders pants off between them.

Just on the Foden goal, brill run from Phil but a terrific through ball from Erl, who was being bodily assaulted at the time, fking ref right next to him!!!!!

Anyway tough fought battle bags of character from the lads, the support was an absolute cauldron, came across on the commentary very well. Had the app on, not a fan of monkey heeed Peter Reid but he paid a warm tribute to Tony Book, fair play. Jan Aage Fjortoft added precisely nothing, and spelman as the host was rather poor. Luckily the lads on comms just brilliant. Onto a nightmare February fixtures list with renewed hope. If we get a proper DM in, we're going all the way!
 
Felt like a significant win today, particularly after a such a bad start (and on the back of the result in Paris). Would’ve been easy for the team to capitulate in those circumstances, but felt like we showed real character to turn it round. Took a lot of heart from that today.

My take on today. All the usual failings were there for all to see,lack of physicality, weak as fuck all over,didn't make a tackle all game ,but Chelsea were even worse! We eventually played a couple of passes over the top,the viking loved it and had a great game, we're so bad but i actually enjoyed it today, May yet make 4th if everyone is as hopeless as Chelsea .Up the Blues.

Taken a lot from marmoush's influence myself..

Amazing what a bit of energy upfront can do for the defensive side...

Akanji can get fucked though if he did have a go at the new kid ..

Didn't see it myself but other posters did.

If Dias was next to him he'd be sticking his tongue down his throat and giving him encouragement after a mistake.
 
Great team performance, the most enjoyable game of the season for me. Lots of positives. Bring on Wednesday then onwards and upwards from here on in lads.

I have just watched their goal a few times and yes, it was an awful header back to Eddie, but Akanji, as the senior player knowing that the lad was nervous as hell, should have shouted "mine, or whatever lingo the lad can understand" and hoofed it out of harm's way.

Hope it was nerves. We can't afford any more duds in the defence.
