So he does not speak French where he stayed for 2 years? A lot of our players speak French. Since Yaya and Fernandinho left no one in City speaks Russian so he really does not have anyone to talk to in the club.

Yeah that was his first action. I think he will come good, just obviously incredibly nervous, language barrier. He’s barely even trained with the team. Hopefully we get a coach or someone that can communicate with him.

Exactly, especially after one game! He will learn and only get better. Let's give the lad a chance before prematurely jumping to conclusions.

Kev and Doku speak French. Their native language is flemish but they also speak french. And i think Akanji can speak French too.

The PL press would be something completely new. Hasn't trained to know our system or where players will be to pass out from the press . Done alright considering the start. A few flashes of promise . Hard to be too assertive when on a yellow .

Would of wanted the pitch to swallow him up after the mistake then the yellow. But he blocked what may have been a goal and steadied himself for the next 50 minutes. Can’t understate how much he’s been dropped in the deep end even without the language barrier. Well done kid and well done pep for not ruining him by taking him off too early !

I thought Pep managed him really well. He’d have been tempted to take him off after 20 minutes, but he clearly told Bernardo to look after him, and keeping him on for 10 mins after the break took away any ammunition for “disaster debut hooked at half time” stories.

It was also a nice coincidence that his last action on the pitch was positive.
