It should because he encroached.

I've just watched it back - and yes it simply had to be retaken. It is a clear cut rule, there's no ambiguity. It's been pretty consistent since the new encroachment rules have been in place.

If you are a defender and you encroach and then touch the ball to clear it, then it gets retaken. Whoever else is encroaching is totally irrelevant - it only counts as encroachment if you impact the play. Guehi only has himself to blame.

This is the actual law.

A team-mate of the goalkeeper is penalised for encroachment only if: the encroachment clearly impacted on the kicker; or. the encroaching player plays the ball or challenges an opponent for the ball and this prevents the opponents from scoring, attempting to score or creating a goal-scoring opportunity.

As the kicker was the only person ‘prevented’ from scoring and, because it hit the post, he wasn’t actually allowed to even touch it let alone score from it, that criteria was clearly not met.

Surprised anything is, they are 15th but Everton have a game in hand which if they won would push Spurs into 16th!
