I think it’s simply that we want him to have first team football there but we have literally been temporarily banned from loaning players to Girona. So the proposal is for Girona to buy him and then City would buy him off Girona some time in the future. Or be part of Arsenal/Villa’s first team immediately and accept not actually playing as much in the short term.
No, we absolutely want him, but it’s always been the case that Nypan is visiting several clubs that want him before making his decision.

I don't know about every one of them but there was one that ended up going to Real Madrid (after visiting us and plenty of others) and seemed to have fell off the radar. So much so that I can't recall his name now, or perhaps that's just my age.

If City are smart they would use Odegaard as a perfect example of why going to Girona actually makes a lot of sense. Even Odegaard had FOUR loans whilst a Madrid player, before then signing permanently for Arsenal. If Arsenal are promising him first team football from the off, no loans, in order to convince him then City should call out that BS. He needs that regular football.
Remember him playing for us in an fa cup match against a lower league team.
