I'd go as far as to say that we are on the cusp of the verge of impending imminence. We're on the verge of impending imminence.

Doubt we announce owt before Wednesday but… is there any sign of impending imminence?
The problem we are having is that Kovacic is goosed at the 70 minute mark & as Pep doesn't seem to be willing to throw either Wright or O'Reilly in the only other option seems to be Gundogan. That was a long time ago though. He suited Villa but I don’t think would solve anything now or we would buy him.
Juve cannot wait to get rid of him and they paid what £50 mill for him?
People think the overwhelming problem is getting legs in midfield so somebody can charge around and get stuck in. Maybe that would help a tiny bit in some games agreed but it’s far from the answer.
Gundo has never had to cover the distance we are asking him to now. He hasn’t aged overnight. Everyone looks tired because we aren’t keeping the ball in midfield…just look at the PSG game and the passing stats..it’s not like us.
Luiz doesn’t help with the solution, he is a sticking plaster at best. The sooner we find players to play the way we want to the better as we aren’t designed for charging about. Any move for Luiz would be an admission that we have failed to find anyone. If we have to I’d keep to our principles and suffer or even try Nico there.
We are going to need a Gundo replacement and a very good DM anyway because the former will most likely leave in the Summer and we can’t have no answer to Rodri getting injured again.
Not signing another DM, and bringing Gundo back not knowing that Rodri was going to get a season ending injury was,in hindsight, two errors. We still have those fundamental errors and Luiz isn’t better than what we have unless we are admitting we are going to play differently.
Kimmich, despite his age, would improve us much more because he keeps the ball under pressure annd is intelligent and Florian would be a dream as another CM. Neither of which we are odds on to get this Window but I’m sure we are still looking.
The Luiz stories are primarily coming from Juve and the player’s agent. I doubt Juve would loan him even if we went along with the charade. We aren’t buying him thank god so it looks like a none story to me right now.
Dont see any mid being signed starting that game anyway, even if they sign in the next 10 minutes.to be fair I didnt think end of December we will arrive into 27th of January ad still no midfielder signed.
good news is window isnt closing on Friday but next Monday the 3rd.
but to play vs Arsenal actually Friday is the deadline.
If our main midfield target would come here on a permanent move rather than a loan, I highly doubt that being part of the CL knockout stages this season would be of great importance. If they stay here 5+ years there would be plenty of CL gamesWednesday is key.
We win, we sign a midfielder.
We lose, we stick with what we have.
IMO anyway.

World class? Don’t get me wrong he looks great, but world class is thrown around way too much. De Bruyne carrying us to multiple trophies and being the best player on the pitch is world class, Marmoush isn’t at that level yet.Marmoush showed in 60 minutes what a world class player looks like. It's a combination of things. Ability and confidence in that ability being important. He just looked like he had that X factor. We've had a few the last decade.
Not sure McAtee has that. He'd be an absolutely great squad player who would get plenty of minutes when we're running down games but that might not be what he wants. He is currently in competition with Foden, Bobb soon, Savinho, Doku, Grealish and now Marmoush.
Might not be wholly their decision. The club might not want to invest more without the CL revenue.
This doesn't reconcile with what we have always heard about the club.Wednesday is key.

I think Pep is right it’s more we are giving the ball away so then have to run more. Although Ilkay filled that role when he was younger, he no-longer has the legs to do it & is made attacking left centre midfield his position. Luiz would probably get us to summer & we would have a better idea of how Rodris' recover has gone.

But would need to be confident of CL revenue next season, which might be more likely by getting in a new midfielder...
This doesn't reconcile with what we have always heard about the club.
We always hear they plan transfers over a longer-term period, so why would one game suddenly become a major pivot point?
