We couldn’t get a work permit for Luiz yet he went to villa and got one I never understand these issues..

In addition to the wages as a function of the team, the transfer from City to Villa itself was positioned in the top X (I can't remember the exact figure at the moment) percent of transfers in the EPL that window. That was one of the major factors in Villa being able to register him with no delay.

Even if City aren’t in for him, it’s a smart move to be seen at City if he’s negotiating with Arsenal.

Perhaps but if certainly weren’t interested we would have briefed the likes of Gaughan to say we aren’t interested.

Agreed. He looks a player, but we seem stacked in the 8/10 role.

He’s not really going to play that much for us for a few years, even if he signs.

If Kev, Gundo and potentially Bernardo, Kovacic go then we definitely need some more bodies in the middle.

That's true. Hard to know with this one whether he would be at the level required. Does seem more physical than odegaard was at the same age but definitely not as gifted in other areas.
