From the new Franz Ferdinand album out today, The Human Fear
Think ive said this a few times over the years, but i fuckin swear i will actually finish my own stuff....absolutely determined to complete an EP this year....so thatll definitely be some new music to be ridiculed :-)
not my cup of tea,
but westside cowboy are also from manchester
Doves ‘Cold Dreaming’
Three for the price of one.
A band (duo) I really like has two new singles out. Still no sign of an album, but enough individual songs for one.
- Midnight Ambulance - just kids/beasts count knives.
Their previous songs Smoke And Sweets, and Black Gloves are well worth a listen to.
- Viagra Boys - man made of meat.
New single by the awesome desert rock band from Stockholm.
- Cleopatrick - Please / Hammer
Two new songs that are Very different to their previous stuff. Seeing them in March, be interesting to see if there is a change in direction.
Your tube links just for you @calumdown
Might be a bit more niche, but for anyone that likes this type of thing, the collaborative new album between Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis and Mary Carpenter is very nice.
Sample song below.
Look forward to hearing it.Think ive said this a few times over the years, but i fuckin swear i will actually finish my own stuff....absolutely determined to complete an EP this year....so thatll definitely be some new music to be ridiculed :-)
If you have not yet heard it, look up the song The Lost Words Blessing, by Polwart, Fowlis and a few others grouped under the 'spell songs' moniker. Some free goosebumps for you. Prefer the studio version but there is a live one about as well.Love Karine Polwart's voice. Eerie.
