Same one against Chelsea just with Savinho instead of Gundogan and Stones starting at least instead of Khusanov

We will get something out of this game.

Aim to keep possession and not play too open. Hopefully Stones is able to play a full game.

the stay humble, eh? game lol

Haaland better fucking puts in a big performance and not getting lost in the pocket of Gabriel and Saliba. Marmoush should start to help him.

with the pressure they put on Oliver for the red card, ref in this one thinks 5 times to give them a red even if well deserved.

midfield again big question,Rice, Merino, Odegaard can move the ball quick and have energy as well and their fullbacks can join in too.
Gundo and Kovacic need brutal performance to get hold of the midfield and Bernardo as well need to be used centrally not hanging out the wing.

imo KDB cannot start.

Arteta needs a win to keep up with the dippers, but he isnt risking much usually. of course watch for set pieces, as they can hurt any team with those.

Agree kev can't start.
Sad as it is he's done

Ederson
Akanji
Khusanov
Stones
Gvardiol
Kovacic
Bernardo
Nunes
Marmoush
Savinho
Haaland

Akanji at right back, need to find a more defensive option there. Don't like the midfield i think we'll likely get completely overran like PSG but there's nothing else. Nunes on the right wing, task him with playing a bernardo role from there, have him drop into the middle to help out with the extra man but can provide a threat with a decent cross from out there too. Savinho left where he's best and stick marmoush right behind haaland. Kdb hasn't got the legs to start this, he can be the 15 minute option from the bench.

Game plan should be centered around using Haaland. Hit him early, use him in the channels, play him in behind and have marmoush feed off him and savinho and Nunes to be sticking crosses into him.

We try and play "our" game arsenal will batter us, they're simply better at it than us now, going toe-to-toe when you're the weaker side is suicide, have to use our strengths and Haaland is by far our biggest strength.

Hard to pick a team for this. But I’d probably go with the same as Chelsea, with Stones for Khusanov.

——————-Ederson————-
Nunes—-Stones—-Akanji—-Gvardiol
—Bernardo—Kovacic—-Gundogan—
—-Foden——Haaland—-Marmoush

Really could do with another option as the third midfielder alongside Kovacic and Bernardo, but there isn’t one - O’Reilly would be tailor-made for that position but there’s no chance of that. Grealish could do it, but Pep obviously has no real interest in using him at the moment.

Hard on Savinho, as he was excellent last night. But good to have such a potential game changer to come on.

Ederson
Nunes Stones Akanji Gvardiol
KDB Kova Bernardo Foden
Haaland Marmoush

That's a bit too open, as Kevin isn't a proper midfielder these days. Trying to fit all of Haaland, Marmoush, Foden and Kevin can work vs Ipswich, but, IMO, vs Arsenal away we have to be more solid.

Kev is going to stay home and save some energy by not pressing like a rabbit and just concentrating on sliding through balls into the path of Haaland and Marmoush, or crossing them from the corner of the box.

If we play this 4-4-2, we can even transition to a “2-2-2-2,” allowing both FBs the freedom of their respective wings, and setting up a 4 across whichever line we need at the time (4-2-2-2/2-4-2-2/2-2-4-2/2-2-2-4).

In addition, by having both KDB & Foden in midfield, it allows each of them to play just behind the strikers in that 2-4-2-2 set up, while not leaving the back door wide open.

Anyway, it’s going to be a very interesting game and hopefully a well deserved victory for the Boys in Blue! I fancy Marmoush to make a statement, possibly being fed in by Kev or Phil!

It might work. My worry is that both Kevin and Phil are more attacking players than midfielders and will often leave Kova and Bernie a bit lonely in midfield, even if they are instructed to play deeper.

Unfortunately, we don't have many options in midfield. We need a better version of Gundo next to Kova and Bernie. One option would be to move Foden in midfield, he can run and pass, and play Savinho on the right instead of Kevin. On paper that might be more attacking, but Savinho can help Nunes more than Kevin.

Also, an in form Grealish would be an option too, but Pep doesn't seem to fancy him, PSG aside.

Something like this is not unlikely:

--‐----Kova-----Bernie

Foden-‐--Marmoush-----Grealish

------------------Haaland
