Garth Hudson was before his passing aged 87 the last surviving member of The Band.
What a band they were. Up there with Robbie,Rick,Richard and Levon now.

Marianne Faithful has passed. 78.

She was one of the iconic faces of the swinging 60s as a singer and actress, best remembered for her film Girl on a motorcycle with Alain Delon and hit singles Summer nights and As tears go by. She was very attractive in her younger days but sadly declined later owing to alcohol and drug usage. At one stage she was living rough in London for several years.

Met her very briefly around the late 90’s/early 00’s on a Eurostar train, shortly after I’d been to an Evan Dando gig where she’d made a guest appearance. I brought it up and she was polite enough to talk to me about it for a minute or two. RIP Marianne……

Marianne was beautiful in her hey day.
