Away fans / tourists in home sections

I think if City fans buy the tickets when released, there won’t be any to go to agencies. You want a ticket? Get a membership or join the scheme, if we don’t buy them the club will sell them…
It may be expensive but the alternative is not good.

Besides season ticket holders, there are well over 100,000 Citizen card holders. The club could easily sell all home match tickets via OS ticket page. Instead the club allegedly syphons off tickets to official ticket resale partners for a huge profit. Don't blame the fans, blame the club. Let's see how many Real Madrid fans are in the City ends this time compared to last time.

So many neutrals attend CL games now it’s inevitable that for bigger games we’ll get “followers” of other clubs in the home end. I dread ever drawing the old firm as the numbers in our end will exceed what was seen at OT last week.

It won’t exceed what the rags had against Galatassary because it never has .

No I was just asking the question. I know a couple of people who tried to buy tickets and that's what they were told. :-)
They do. But the ticket agencies own city cards and season tickets and that’s how the whole legal touting system works.

So basically we can’t put all the blame on the club? They can’t check the WHOLE credentials of approximately 40,000 people each match.
I’m just trying to be a sort of devil’s advocate because I don’t think it’s 100% the fault of the club.

Sorry I seem to be doing a bit of disagreeing or at least putting another point of view today. I’m not trying to be disagreeable just trying to see both sides of the discussion.
I do apologise. :-)

There are ticket touts on Ashton new road and Joe mercer way asking if anyone needs tickets. As it's all done by phone I wonder how it's achieved. Where are these tickets from etc.

That’s right. The ticket agencies make big profits by owning season tickets and cards and selling them on. The games they can’t sell are more than compensated for by the big games. It’s simple stuff, basically the same as how the touts used to operate.

So if someone has a different person next them every game they can notify the club. If it's an unofficial sell-on the club can take action.

I guess they could, but it’s no different to having a seat next to you that is sold through the club. The two on my right have different people every game and it’s never even entered my head to contact the club.

Same with me, and I also don't lose any sleep over it. But we have a ticket compliance dude so he might as well earn his cash.

There was two together just near me that I tried to buy three years running, back when you could buy them.

Each year I asked and was told they weren’t available for season tickets and every game different people or nobody turned up in them.

There’s clearly always been certain seats that they wouldn’t let get in the hands of season ticket holders, for whatever reason.

What if they are wearing half n half scarves?
A fair amount of half n half scarf types buy hospitality packages from City that involve a meal before the game away from the stadium plus a match ticket. Whatever people think of the morals, it’s a perfectly legitimate practice by the club and in the PSR era, one that’s unlikely to go away.

It's not hard to buy tickets though, I've just bought two to watch Rangers v St Mirren. For my lad and myself. Ever club has the same issue with sell on sites.

The policy I don't like much is selling tickets to schools. They do pay. I have asked. I sit at the back of 305 high in the 3rd tier. City put children there. They get bored. They scream, bang seats. It can be annoying and I think this seating would be better off going to fans who really want to go. The demand is there at the right price.

Make sure you have a suitable disguise to fit in with the rangers fans to avoid trouble.

A good tip is to down an entire crate of Tennants Super before breakfast, defecate on the street and smash up a few shop fronts for “a laugh” before passing out on top of a bollard before the game even kicks off.
