He just needs time mate. He's young & his body will strengthen with City's expert physios monitoring him.I thought he might but doesnt look like it. Glass Cannon for relegation fodder right now, the kids can do that.

For me, and I stand by my original opinion of Grealish from the moment he was brought to us.....He is overrated hugely. He has virtually no attacking threat at all in terms of either goals or assists and he didnt have it before he came here. He would be first out the door for me along with Gundogan (but with hugely different feelings about it)In his last few appearances, he's definitely trying harder to defend, but he still has a way to go. If he could defend the left side as well as Grealish, Jack would be done at City.
Right now, it seems Jack is only being used to shore up the defensive left side, to help see games out. That's not what we bought him for, hence the question marks over his long-term future with City.
Maybe, im not hopeful. Already missed more games this season than last and its only Feb.He just needs time mate. He's young & his body will strengthen with City's expert physios monitoring him.
Sadly & regrettably I have to agree with you regarding Gundog & KDB. It was VERY noticeable against Chelsea that our effectiveness dropped considerably when Kev replaced Moose. As you correctly say, it's gonna be as hard, if not harder to replace him as a player & in the fan's hearts, than it was with Silva, Vinny, Aguero & Fernandinho. For me, and I stand by my original opinion of Grealish from the moment he was brought to us.....He is overrated hugely. back to Cambiaso- he looks very versatile and the one things Italians know how to do is defend! That versatiluty should serve him well as he looks like he could tuck inside as a fullback and ven play midfield as a 6. Him and Gonzales and we are suddenly looking a bit more solid ...then in the summer we have to sort out the replacements for Gundo and KDB - this will be the biggest moment in transfer history for us in the last 10 years....replacing Kun was hard...I think replacing KDB is even tougher but it needs to be done.
We're in strange times all round fella. My Spuds supporting cousin just sent me the top half of the league table showing us in 5th. I think it was lost on him, Spuds weren't even included on that graphic!Maybe, im not hopeful. Already missed more games this season than last and its only Feb.
Seen a Rudy Galetti post saying we are still working on it about an hour agoAnytging happening with this transfer?
Im going to disagree with you (and many) on this. He was notably better I agree but still he wasnt a match winner or someone who controlled games or had huge impacts on games either individually or did anything other players cannt do. There were lots of other players in the team who had much bigger impacts on the team than Grealish at that time. For me he was lucky to be a part of it. One half season of being better does not justify the hype around someone who overall is an average player ....if he hadnt had good PR and been taken by us no one would have noticed his career anymore than your average english player.Sadly & regrettably I have to agree with you regarding Gundog & KDB. As for Grealish, I read analysis about him explaining why City bought him. It wasn't for his goals or assists, it was because he was the king of assisting the assister. His performance record Villa in this respect was off the charts. No other PL player came near. He was essentially a central midfielder playing wide for City, rather than him being a traditional chalk on boots winger, & we saw his effectiveness during our treble season.
He took a season to adjust, then went stratospheric in his second season with us, then blew it all when he reverted to being Jack The Lad. Since then, his consistent form has never reappeared, & judging by what I'm currently seeing, I don't know if it ever will whilst he's at City.
Reluctantly, I agree that a parting of the ways is probably the best solution for both parties. Gutted, but Jack's partying & drinking seems to have got in the way of his football.
The other noticeable thing for me is an interview he gave after the treble where it seemed he was saying he'd reached the pinnacle of his career after that historic feat. What he didn't realise is being at Manchester City, he's expected to go for the same EVERY season. I just don't think he's fully realised that.
You can only judge him on his record, & I concede if you take out the treble season, for a forward costing £100m, Grealish has been distinctly underwhelming. I suppose like all City players, I try to see the best in all of them & just want them to succeed.Im going to disagree with you (and many) on this. He was part of a system but there are other players (many) who could have played that role.
And he was never ever going to be good enough to take a central midfield spot.....Foden, KDB, David Silva Gundo Bernardo, Rodri Ferna all far far superior in every way and every metric. I see more potential in the likes of Nico OReilly, McAtee than Grealish
if we wanted a straight up wing back maybe.Just done a quick comparison between him and Porro and Porro trumps him in pretty much every stat, both attacking and defending. Considering he’s only got 2.5 years left on his contract, he’s played in the prem and Spurs will probably finish bottom half, wouldn’t he be a better fit?
yup and none of that surprises me Im afraid. Funnily enough, a City item from the MEN just popped up on my news feed, & I shit you not, the news strap at the top of the page featured the interview with a not too impressed Gareth Southgate being asked questions about Jack's partying & drinking, when he was supppsed to be meeting up for international duty! :-)
werent we rumoured to be in for Porro a few seasons ago (before he joined spurs)? - I think he was definitely soneone we probably monitored - problem now is if we did want him, you would have to deal with Levy and everone knows how shit that is and how unrealistic the guy isJust done a quick comparison between him and Porro and Porro trumps him in pretty much every stat, both attacking and defending. We've had several opportunities to bring him in when we owned him, we never came close.werent we rumoured to be in for Porro a few seasons ago (before he joined spurs)? - I think he was definitely soneone we probably monitored - problem now is if we did want him, you would have to deal with Levy and everone knows how shit that is and how unrealistic the guy is
Don't think you'll find any of the people dealing with transfers will be in the squad tomorrow ;)Don't expect any big news yet guys, as there is a game tomorrow, Monday will be a wet day when we can hear something concrete .
Walker hadn’t become a pensioner then. The timing just wasn’t right. We've had several opportunities to bring him in when we owned him, we never came close.
