If we could get this done today he'd get to play plenty of minutes this season and learn the position before Rodri comes back. Also with a bit less pressure than usual going for top 5 rather than the title.

No one has ever heard of this guy and yet the club seems to think it’s worth staffing £50m on him rather than giving O’Reily a chance.

Don’t understand the reluctance to give the EDS players a chance in the first team. He will go to Chelsea and do really well no doubt.
well its not like anyone at the club watches these players everyday and see's what we dont but hey ho throw him in

Why do I feel like it doesn’t matter who we bring in to this current squad it won’t solve any issues. Feels like something runs deeper than no DM/RB.

I agree. I hate to say this but I’m not sure next season we’ll be back to what people call normal.

We will probably be better but we won’t be anywhere near what we once were.

Probably going to take a while mate, we can’t be much worse than this season. Deeper squad less injuries leads mistakes hopefully.

It's hard to see us building another 4 in a row/ treble team in the short term, but if you replace KDB with Wirtz or Musiala and sign a high quality partner for Rodri, you have a title winning team again.

We aren't that far away.

Musiala might be hard as he is literally in the middle of signing a new 5 year deal

When you consider we are fourth in the table in spite of all our injuries, ageing players and having our worst season in ten years, you can see it wouldn't take much to have us right back up there again. Indeed if we hadn't ridiculously thrown some daft points away, notably against the rags and Brentford we'd probably be in second place.

We are that far away though, mate. We are a mess.

The problem isn’t money. The problem is no players can replace what we had.

Walker
KDB
Gundogan
Bernardo

They will all 10/10 for what they did for us.

Who is gona replace what KDB?
No one can press, pass, shoot, control the game, get Pep etc, as well as him.
No one work do what Bernardo did, play multiple positions to a high standard.
Walker, only guy who had speed and strength. Replacing him with Rico or Nunes is such a huge gulf in class.

Rodri is almost 30 with ACL, he isn’t gona be back to his level again. He might one day get to 9/10 standard but the 10/10 Rodri won’t be back.

Anyway, let’s see what happens but I can’t see next season being a successful one. It will just be a bit better with lots of cash spent.

The reason he has hardly kicked a ball, is because he is hardly good enough....a flashy 20 mins here and there means nothing. He didn't stand out at Sheff utd, yet some are still so obsessed with everyone from the academy being a saviour!
On that basis Palmer wasn’t good enough either then, that turned out well didn’t it.

I'm not so sure, add on the points we've thrown away from leading positions in the last 15 minutes we'd be up around the 50 points and only 6 or 7 off liverpool, get this and the next window right, I can see us challenging for the title next season.

There would be a lot more noise about this if it was happening. I know City work very quietly on transfers, but it's too quiet. There's always some info coming out when a transfer is happening. This doesn't look like it is happening. Hopefully I'm wrong?

PS. Just seen the tweets. Let's see.
