Prob my favourite comment after reading the Porto forum and translating:

“Holy shit, I hope you have fun in that plastic club, without history, with artificial fans, in that shitty city, with shitty time, shitty food and with depressed Guardiola fucking your head every 5 minutes.

I'm kidding, I wish him all the best, he seems to me an impeccable boy and he was a great player while he was here.

But I didn't tell any lies.

And holy shit gave birth to that new-rich club of shit, because they could have taken the guy at any time and chose to do it at the end of the transfer period.”

Had no idea Porto played in Liverpool

Top 4, FA Cup, Champions League. Re-building. What worries me is that Pep will play a player if he came from someone elses academy but if he comes from our academy he won't play them. I will not be happy if this means O'Reilly is the latest player to be sold. If it does, I think City fans might start to lose a little faith with Pep / Txiki.

Your academy / youth team is the resource with which to bring players through as the first team ages. Use it. Why can't Pep do this?
What if they're just not good enough to make it at City, OR they want to leave for regular first team football BEFORE they're good enough for City's first team?

This is the problem we face. Players reaching 22/23 years old, who aren't good enough to supplant our elite players, & they're blocking the first team route for the next batch of EDS players.

People calling for O'Reilly to be blooded against PSG, Chelsea or ArseAnal need to get real. The kid isn't ready for that level of heat. As for Khusanov & Reis, they'd already begun to prove they could potentially play against the best at a young age.

I've no issue with us selling on our academy products with buy back & sell on clauses, & replacing them with better academy products nurtured elsewhere.

From memory, only Sancho & Palmer have left our academy & gone on the play for England, & both wanted to leave for the aforementioned reasons. Foden, Lewis & Bobb have shown the early level our academy products need to get to, in order to force themselves into Pep's bigger plans.
