Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Mental how many fans forget that our players and manager are human too.
Human yeah, from champions to a bag of shite overnight? Let me say I don't want Pep gone, what this season has shown though is he firstly wasn't ahead of the game in our rebuild, he wasn't even in time with a rebuild that was needed. He openly said he dismissed the rebuild so he failed on that front. He has then been unable to change our style, change our tactics or approach or adapted to a bad situation. The blame isn't solely at his door but the so called best manager in the game cannot fold like this when the going gets tough. You innovate, you find solutions and whilst them solutions may not be as brilliantly fantastic as 2023 that ended in a treble, they should certainly turn this seasons form around or at least not be so easy to play against. We do the same things and expect different results. It is mental. The post I replied to was sugar coating yesterdays mess because recent years have been amazing. We have been spoilt no end and we have memories that will last a life time. It still doesn't make this season ok and it never will.

One of our major issues summed up in one picture. The midfielders are too scared to play a daring pass but they’re not offering much by playing it safe either. Recipe for disaster.

Hopefully Gonzalez has the bravery on the ball.

mmmm, i'm gonna defend Silva on this occasion as he'd just broken free of a challenge and in your image has just touched the ball into space (it runs on another metre or so). On his next step he looks up to see Marmoush's run but he's very level and i guess Silva has thought in his head he's offside.

but i do agree with your point, sometimes we're safety passes galore.

Arguably, I agree with Pep's strange comment that Phil's poor pass that lead to Arsenal's second was the right ball. It kind of was, it was an attacking line-breaking pass that would have set marmoush free but he ballsed it up.

Another stat, Arsenal blocked 3 of our shots, we blocked a big fat ZERO of theirs. Our defenders stand like statues instead of closing down, they do that arms behind their back and stand sideways shit.
That deflected Partey shot off Stones, Akanji for their third turns sideways.
Put your bloody bodies on the line, and if you have to take one on your face or the nob then so be it.
Out of interest, we're the blocks by Arsenal defenders or midfielders?

Wanted to wait 24hrs pretty much after being there yesterday. So here is my take.
Were actually played well for periods but did nothing with the ball. The insistence to pass back inside when the cross is on was very frustrating. Nunes to Akanji to Nunes and back again. Funny isn't it as soon as we get the cross in earlier we scored.
I have criticised Nunes a lot but he didn't really do a lot wrong yesterday. Akanji has been awful all season and his wank touch which led to the opener summed him up.
Foden. Another one of those games. Tried.to influence but ended up gifting them a 2nd goal. He is a quality player but has he got what it takes to really step up and influence when it matters? Like KDB has in the past on numeous occasions. Ortega. Fucking hell he was shit. Distribution, marshmallow hands on shots. Ederson for me all day.
I could carry on but what is the point. Stonesy turning his back for there 2nd. Fuck off man, stand up and take one in the face if it stops deflections like that. 3rd goal he goes to ground to easily.
Do not dress it up we were poor but ARSENAL WERE GIFTED 3 MAYBE 4 GOALS. I actually thought we would win it when we got level. That last 20 mins put paid to that....
For me we could easily let 10 go in the summer.
Gvardiol was solid and appears to be back playing well. Dias if he cant stay fit, just.get rid. Controvertial yes but we cannot keep carrying players with shit injury records. Love Ake but he is the same...Bernie crap, Savio played ok, Marmoush and Haaland no service.
As for that Myles Lewis Skelly celebration. Lol. The thick **** doesnt realise that the biggest compliment he gave to Haaland was doing that.
Arsenal fans are fucking weird. Like really strange. I am all in for a Liverpool title win. I do not care who I upset. Arsenal will be looking back in May wondering if the 'we beat city trophy' was actually worth it..
As for the blue on blue in front of us. Put the cocaine away lads and fucking grow up.
On a final note, another wank atmosphere in our end due to the tourists everywhere. Another fashionable game to be at. It fucking stinks.
Anyway hope all the blues were ok after it went off outside after the game.
See you at Madrid all being well. My back has gone so MRI for me.

I know we had a tough time of it yesterday. Things went bad pretty quickly. But upon reflection, we were ok up to Phil assisting partey for his goal. Even the early fuck ups were stemmed.
It's a real worry how brittle we are. That is the worst aspect of this recent form.
If we concede, we fold.
I actually don't know what can be done to stop it. The fall is dramatic.

Get ready folks. Get the tissues out….
I’m taking my fate in my own hands now and braving the MOTD2 highlights of yesterday’s game.
Sound switched off mind you. I couldn’t afford the tissues for that as well.

We who are about to enter the battlefield salute you!!

Speak kindly of me if I fail to return!

Yesterday was a shambles but it wasn't entirely unexpected. We have been making the mistakes we made yesterday for the last 3 months but yesterday we made them in extreme form al in the same game. And much as I hate giving that odious team, with odious players and an odious crowd credit for anything, we did this against a side good enough to take sufficient advantage to give us a real walloping. We brought a lot of it on ourselves.

For the second successive week end we began with a gift to encourage our opponents: a dangerous pass from Stones which Akanji didn't control at a time our defenders were outnumbered 4-2. And we did it twice more in the first half, but courtesy of the flag and then Havertz we didn't concede but it always looked a distinct possibility. Ortega's distribution was so poor, as was the passing of our defenders (excepted Gvardiol), that we were always under pressure from a team that does press and presses quite well. That is an element which has vanished from our game because only Erling seems to have the legs for it. Bad passing gave away the second goal (after we looked likely winners because of Arteta's inherent negativity) and the inability of our defence and midfield to put any pressure on the ball contributed 3, 4 and 5.

I think injuries and players playing through injury are important causes of our problems. There is a number of cllubs against which we won't get away wit it, but, though we hadn't lost in 5 PL games, the competition ( with the exception of Chelsea) wasn't particularly strong and we had our shaky periods against all of them - remember in aprticular the first 10 minutes against the Hammers and stretches of the match at Leicester.

Turn it off after the Haaland goal, we were doing alright until then lol.

The obvious pass there is for Marmoush to chase, given his pace. We are too safe!
