Right back options

Was watching the Bundesliga highlights yesterday which I watch every week (It's like their MOTD). In the Dortmund v Weder Bremen game ISSA Kabore came off the bench on 60 minutes playing LWB & he absolutely terrified the Dortmund defence with his electric pace. I didn't know he was that quick. He also nearly set up a goal showing good dribbling ability to go past a couple of defenders. I'm surprised he's never been given a chance at City to show what he can do. He normally plays on the right being right footed so it looks as if he is capable of playing on both flanks. I know it's only highlights from one game & it did not show if he is capable defending but the fact that he has pace shows he can get back quickly when we get countered. I'd love to know what Luton fans thought of him when he was loaned there last season.

My sister and her family are season ticket holders there.
Thought he was one of their better player's and would have been more than happy to see him stay on.
Very fast and good on the overlap in attack. Their main negative was that he was caught out a feqmw times balkwatching, particularly with crosses to the far post.
Its a bit of a mystery to me why Pep didn't hold on to one of Kabore, Doyle or Couto, not necessarily as a first team regular but they would have strengthened our panel.
Not sure why he was getting little game time in Portugal and had his loan cancelled early.
 
This issue is as big a dilemma as the 6. Nunes in my opinion is crap, but I feel sorry for him in that not only is he not up to the level, he's being asked to play a position he clearly isn't comfortable purely because he is athletic. Any top side we play is going to target him and quite rightly!

Frimpong is wing back, unless we are going to play 3 center backs there is no point to sign him he doesn't fit our system.

And that is the issue we need someone who can be good in attack and in defence.
 
It would be nice if we had the whole Bayer Leverkusen team here right now. Apart from Gvardiol, Marmoush and Haaland, none of our other players would enter their first 11.
 
Amazed if this position doesn’t get resolved January or not this and the lack of a midfielder should of been done the first week in January

Have a horrible feeling we might have deals in place for RB/CB to join us in the summer.

I still believe there is a decent squad player in Nunes
I'll qualify that:
1) he'll never be a RB, even filling in, as long as I have a hole in my ass.
2) Stop coaching him to continually pass back/sideways when he's out wide - when he actually crosses he has a decent delivery.
Will he ever be World class - no. But we need some players to fill in against poorer opposition to rotate - as we've found to our cost this season

Not senior players costing £53m we don't. At that kind of money he should be challenging to start with a fully fit squad. He rarely did, & was shit when tried.

He's only upped his game time recently because it was either him or a 17 year old EDS kid for positions we literally had no one else for. I'd rather the "squad player" role go to a talented EDS kid, or keep KDB or Kovacic on reduced minutes for another season.

Not really his fault we spunked that much on him - he's not a £53m player and never was, we're never getting that back for him. What you seem to be suggesting is leave him to rot, not sure who that benefits?? (Just opinions though :))
I'd happily keep Kova as I think he's underrated, KdBs time has come - Nunes isn't a replacement for either but should be taking rotation minutes to prevent the problems with injuries we've seen

He'll take up a valuable squad place if left to rot. Nah, as soon as we restore our full compliment of top level ballers, we should cut our losses & move him on to another club closer to his level for whatever we can get.

It wouldn't surprise me if we tried to include him as a make-weight in the Nico deal, but Porto said "Fuck that! We'd rather the money!"
