Gino D'Acampo

Have to admit, when I read this story my first thought was yeh, and? The guy has been on tv for about 20 years and what he's been accused of is basically his entire schtick. This isn't one of those 'no-one knew what he was really like' or it was all hidden behind the scenes things, it was what he does actually on tv!
To use that Gordon, Gino and Fred Road Trip series that was on ITV a while ago, about 90% of the 'comedy' moments on there were him being angry, aggressive and/or naked. You might as well complain that Gordon is a bit sweary or Fred is a bit French!

I think the problem is not knowing the boundary between performing for the camera and how you act behind the scenes. I'm sure if Gordon Ramsay shouted at the crew like he did the contestants on his shows, he wouldn't last 5 minutes. I reckon part of the issue is that these presenters are often picked for their personalities, and even encouraged to exaggerate it for the cameras. And perhaps some of them don't get that it's a show and you've still got to be professional. There were reports a couple of years ago of him refusing to sign some sort of code of conduct at ITV, so obviously they had tried to warn him about his behaviour before these recent allegations.

This is reminiscent of the Chris Finch character in The Office, with sexual innuendo, belittling, denigrating, and bullying all laughed off as banter.

No woman or man should have to tolerate this in the workplace. It demonstrates an unacceptable level of disrespect. Those poor women that were subjected to his comments at the time clearly found it uncomfortable, but they couldn't say anything because they would have lost their jobs.

We shouldn't make light of this with unfounded comments about other celebrities.

I remember one celebrity on prime time TV, claim that they didn't charge rent to a tenant, in return for sex. That person was not challenged for those comments, and is still a prominent celebrity to this day.

Who was that?

Janet Street Porter.

Paying the rent would be easier than humping that monster surely?

During a discussion about taking on a lodger to combat loneliness, Janet - who has been married five times - confessed: 'I'd have male lodgers between divorces. Not at the same time, one after the other. 'And I've got to admit... I did have sex with one of my lodgers because I didn't charge him rent!'

Janet Street Porter.
Not the first name that would have sprung to mind tbh(!), but now you say it, I can actually imagine that being said.
If you asked most people (including herself probably) to sum her up in one word, they’d say outspoken.

The point being though, that these comments are equally deplorable regardless of the gender of the speaker. Street Porter's comment was laughed at by the other panel members on Loose Women. Imagine if a man had said that.

Quite mate, quite.

Ramsay is exactly the same running his businesses
Shouting, screaming, swearing and bullying his staff
Why do staff put up with it?
Because if you can survive working for him for a couple of years, it looks great on your CV

Doesn't make it right.
Although approaching 60 I'm getting fed up with WOKE
The public have demanded a certain product but now it's time to go after the people providing what they asked for.
BLAME culture is rife these days - take responsibility for actions, and if you feel you've been abused say it there and then

So now not putting up with sexual abuse is WOKE!
Grow up.

In many cases it's an abuse of power as much as sexual misconduct towards young female members of TV staff (or male in Schofield's case). David W will be the next one. Brand has moved to US to avoid attention, not to mention the Al-Fayed's - speak out and lose your job imo.

If only it was that easy.
Wtf is 'woke' about not wanting vulnerable people, usually young women, being abused?
