President Trump

I go on a boxing forum where majority are Americans, it is the polar opposite of this thread. They love the ****. They think he is a genius. Here are a couple of qoutes about gaza

"Trump tells the world the US will take over Gaza and rebuild it. Two days later Egypt and Jordan commit to rebuild Gaza on their own. The Art of the Deal"

"Looks like it was more like a chess move on part of Trump."

Some refer to him as "daddy trump"

with all due respect, being regularly punched in the head isn't generally recognised as a benefit when it comes to intelligence ;)

nice summary from the beeb of the war-mongering mango shitgibbons actions this week

They have omitted the straws thing though, I mean ffs president of the most powerful nation in the world is worried about paper straws, the ****

They've added a number 17, interesting one this

17. Scraps task force that seized assets of Russian oligarchs

Trump's Attorney General Pam Bondi this week disbanded a force designed to combat foreign interference in elections, as well as another initiative which targeted Russian oligarchs.

In an order signed on Bondi's first day in office, she disbanded the FBI's Foreign Influence Task Force - which aimed to prevent foreign meddling in US elections - to reassign its staff to focus instead on drug cartels and transnational criminal organisations.

The order stated it would "free resources to address more pressing priorities, and end risks of further weaponization and abuses of prosecutorial discretion".

Bondi also disbanded Task Force KleptoCapture, which was launched after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It had been tasked with seizing yachts and other assets from Russian oligarchs.

I think this is what gets missed. The vast majority of his supporters (the majority of the US electorate) probably think he's doing great and delivering on his promises.
The fact that people who already hated him anyway don't think this is of no consequence.

Too many of them must have been repeatedly punched in the head.

I think it is more than that. In pretty much everyone's opinion (I will use the term "Western World") Trump has a lot of things right, and also a lot of things wrong. The fact of the matter is that people are liking his approach for breaking the Status Quo. This wave will follow with Poilievre in Canada and Farage in UK. What pisses me off is that you get called right wing or far right wing for having beliefs that change the Status Quo. Not saying any of the prior mentioned are correct or the right people, but the system needs to be changed.

The last opportunities we had for actual change were eliminated when the rw media and 'liberals' who think they are left wing speedily got rid of bernie sanders in the sates and corbyn here. That is because they would have actually tried to change something.

A similar discourse to the Brexit thread, anyone who posts anything remotely positive about Trump is shot down and declared a 'mug' or 'someone who fell for it'. It would be nice to start listening and respecting different opinions and not condescend others.

Americans have voted in their millions for this guy, similar to Brexit, the status quo is not working so they've spoken for change.

If you get pissed off being called right wing or far right stop supporting the politics of far right politicians like Farage and Trump. Their “changing of the status quo” means upending democracy and replacing it with autocracy and in Trump’s case kleptocracy as well. Autocracy is a far right system of government so if you support it chances are you’re far right.

However it seems that just about half of the US electorate are ok with this so who am I to argue.

Do they want a prize for putting a racist, sex pest fuckwit in charge of the country?

You have literally just done exactly what I have described.

Let's face it, when Trump says he's going to do something, he bloody well gets on with it, no matter how wrong he might be
I'm still waiting for Mexico to pay for the wall. And for the war in Ukraine to end. And for the end of the Affordable Care Act and for Trump to replace it with something beautiful. And for Trump to hire the best people. And for the swamp to drain. And for...

But, honestly, it could be worse. I mean Project 2025 is terrible. And since Trump knows nothing about Project 2025 I'm sure there's no chance that he'll try to implement it.

Couple of new Trumpisms overnight it seems

Reopened the US refugee programme, but only for 'persecuted' white South Africans

Trump issued a statement slamming the government of South Africa for treating the white Afrikaner population terribly poorly.

And he did a partial reverse ferret on the complete shutdown of the US refugee programme, presumably because he thinks they're the most persecuted people on the planet.

Tried to fire America's election watchdog. She refused.

Ellen Wintraub chairs the Federal Election Commission - which keeps tabs on whether US elections are being held legally and properly.

She tweeted yesterday that she had been sent a letter, signed by Trump, which read: "You are hereby removed as a Member of the Federal Election Commission, effective immediately."

But she's staying put, saying Trump's bid to unseat her is not legal.

She wrote: "There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been lucky to serve the American people & stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon."

For someone so determined to sow mistrust in elections to try to remove the person in charge of their administration is chilling, to say the least.

To try and do it illegally takes it to another level of yikes.

Good old Elon has got in on the act too with

Elon Musk did a Twitter poll asking whether he should un-fire his racist minion

Yesterday one of Elon Musk's youth goon squad was forced to resign after a twitter account linked to him was found to have posted - very recently - racist comments.

Today, Musk did a poll on Twitter, which read: "Bring back @DOGE staffer who made inappropriate comments via a now deleted pseudonym?"

At the time of writing, nearly 400,000 people had voted. 78% voted yes.

An American friend of mine didn’t like a post I made of Trump, something a British guy had written, she got very angry saying Starmer was a twat etc, I said I don’t disagree with her but wouldn’t get into a full on arguemnet, I did point out that I country would trust the USA again in the world when they just roll back on things like this. She said we don’t care, she ranted about immigration, nearly 9 month abortions, how corrupt the democrats were etc etc. I could've ripped her apart but I’ve known her a long time and clearly as a 75 year old they’ve believed the hype. It’s obviously the same here were people are used as a tool to in this case it’s immigration is the thing that is pure evil. I just left it with that they are all as bad as each other and if you think they are doing it for you you are sadly mistaken.
The sad thing is nearly half of American don’t give a flying fuck about the rest of the world, the are going to batten down the hatches and roll over us all, maybe it’s time to really look at their so called special relationship (I don’t think it exists anymore anyway) we need to get back to Europe as I see the world splintering into blocks, I don’t think there’s a way back for the USA now.
