It really doesn’t happen everywhere, not that we have a president, but Prime Ministers certainly don’t get cheered much. Find it a bit weird.Perhaps you missed it. There has been an election since 2020. The guy who won that election is who they are cheering. They do so because he is President and they hope he succeeds.
Regardless of how you personally feel about the winner, there is nothing unusual about cheering the President of a country. It happens everywhere.

All I can say is living in Canada has become far scarier with the election of this man. He is actively threatening the sovereignty of Canada and it scares me and my family a lot at the moment.
