Much more to do with our build up. It’s been noticeable that Akanji and Gvardiol have both been tucked in alongside Stones, which is a role Pep is always going to earmark for Lewis over Nunes or Khusanov

We’ve played better than I think some realise.

Real are not at their best, to be sure, but they are still a very good side and on their day can beat anyone. We were never going to restrict them to no chances. We didn’t even do that when we dismantled them in 2023.

For me, aside from a few slips and one bad decision passing out from the back, that is in the running for our best 45 minutes of the season thus far. Lowish bar compared to previous seasons, sure, but everything is in the trends and this bodes will in my opinion.
