Real Madrid post match thread

Same old problems so the same issues persist.

Rico Lewis - simply not good enough - the third goal is on him and he got skinned numerous times in the second half. He may be ok on the ball in small spaces but he is a less than average defender.

KDB - just not offering anything near enough any more- we are defending with one less man with him on the pitch especially in the mid and attacking third - he aint pressing, he aint tracking back and he cant run - it is time to let him go at the end of this season - anything else is just prolonging the agony. His creative output is also now in decline...to many way wayward passes as he hasnt got the legs to get in postions to make them so he tries to make passes that simply are not on

No proper number 6. Stones did well but we need someone there.

No pace in the back line - the ball in behind our defence was always on...with no walker any more we cant get away with it .

Gundo when he came on was awful.

The result was about right and if we had won that game we wouldnt have deserved it.

Well, partly very good and uplifting, partly very bad and depressing. We'll win next week.

Lewis looks out of his depth in that position!
Fuck me, he's out of his depth in every position.

The lad has skills and can control a ball well, which Pep has mistaken for thinking he's a good footballer. But he is rubbish. He cannot defend, offers nothing going forward, cannot assist and he never score in a year of Sundays. He offers nothing. It's like one of those circus acts that do 8 million keepie uppies but who ultimately cannot play football for toffee.

So frustrating to be knocked out after a game like that. Leading 2-1, decent control of the game and then gift them 2 goals free of charge

I'm actually disappointed with the performance, I can see many on here are happy with what was produced by the players tonight nice to have positive posts.

Personally I think tonight was our chance to go to Madrid with an advantage especially with the players they are missing, We look so short of confidence and you can sense it from the crowd too even when the ball is being played around the back you could hear a pin drop. I don't think we've showed enough attacking threat tonight, We were looking for moments in the game without having any real sustained pressure on Real Madrid. We played ok in parts of the game but overall Real Madrid were the better side they look a step above us at this moment in time.

I loved Gvardiol performance tonight I thought he was absolutely quality, Ederson was incredible up until the 86th minute and then it all went pear shaped.

The goals we are conceding are absolutely comical, The first goal you've two players that don't react getting out and ball watching, The second Ederson having a shit kick out on top of that when Ederson saved the original effort from the rebound Kovacic decided to stop following Diaz run because he can't sense danger, The third goal was a comedy of errors from Rico, Eddie and Kovacic...

It summed up our season as it's been a constant theme, At 2-1 just sit deep and look for counter attacks, Just make sure you hold onto what you have worked for getting a lead...Truth be told, If I was Haaland I'd stick a head in the majority of them at the back, Everytime he gets us in the game or ahead in a game they have a brainfart at the back.
Tonight showed more than any game this season how far we have fallen.

Really disappointing but not surprising, we collapse all the time as our heads go.
Not sure what Pep is trying to do anymore, players certainly aren't listening to him

That mistake would kill any team, We worked so hard to get 2.1 up only to give it away like that

He never wanted to be here this season, Ederson wanted away and was packed ready to go but the deal fell through
And if that had happened there’s no way we would’ve gone into the market as we are ‘Go with what we’ve got FC’ even when our players need walking sticks.
