I've been watching football / city 40 years, I thought I'd seen everything the game can throw up but I really really am baffled by this drop off and our inability to close out games.

Yes key ingurys play a part and maybe some mental fatigue but that's not enough to explain this season, does anyone on ere have a proper good theory as to why they think we have fell off a cliff coz I'm lost at this point? CTID MCFC

Honestly, its a shame its so obvious but - Kevin needs to be moved on at seasons end. Ake coming off - I'm not sure why. Fitness? Measured play time. I don't know. But that hurt. Gundo and Marmoush were too little too late. When Pep makes decisions like he did when the game could still be rescued, he chose wrong. I don't know where Doku was. Khusanov? He's physical and he's got speed. We're not rescuing anything at the Bernabeu.

I agree but I don’t know what we are going to do anymore. Game management has vanished, Nico not up to speed to play a game like this but we need him there and fast. By 60 minutes we are somewhat non existent in these big games, legs have gone, opposition bringing younger fresher players on where as we aren’t and we get run through. Tonight I thought our experience might be getting us through and then once again it’s a huge error that occurs.

Needs a huge rethink by the summer, teams are just staying with us to the hour mark, going up a gear and we are cooked both physically, but more alarmingly mentally.

Opposition brought 40 year old modric and a lad that was crap when here on.

Ederson was brain dead to kick the ball straight to Real for the equaliser. It was so easy to just fall on the ground after he caught the ball. It should be automatic?

He could even have got cramp like Arsenal goalkeepers and wasted 3 minutes. But no. He stands up. He immediately smacks the ball with no control into midfield and invites pressure. Stupid.

Like I say , he can kick a ball with such accuracy that he could land it where he wants it to land. But he chooses a crowded midfield? Doesn't even kick it wide or long into the corner? Something isn't right with him in my view.

Terrible in my opinion and I fear what Madrid will do to us in the second leg.

Peps having a terrible season and is compounding it with bizarre selections, even stranger substitutions and a shape that's continually leaving his players exposed which too much distance to cover.

Compared to previous seasons we have fallen way down.

Sooner we go out of the cups the better.

A proper analysis of this season is a must if we are going to get any better.

Play the new guys or why bother buying them?

Kev is done now. If we are all honest. Impact sub yes but not a starter.
If we go out of the UCL hopefully we will see the new lads get a run with the old
guard on the bench

We are not good enough without Rodri. That's the truth.

Putting Rico at RB vs Vin Jr. is indefensible. Pep isn't in form too.

Gvardiol, Haaland and Foden played really well, Grealish too.

Stones wasn't bad but he isn't a proper midfielder, got tired in the 2nd half.

KDB worked hard but he isn't half the player he was. Might have a good game once in a month, but it's pointless to keep him for another season.

We'll get better when Rodri is back. Best player in the recent history of the club. No other of the legends could elevate the performances of the team like him. Shouldn't be so dependent on one player, though.

Been saying it all season mate that the whole of Europe have been slowly building teams and tactics against our dominance past 8 years..

Everybody plays the same way and does well against us..

Teams and football have moved on but you'll get the happy clappers saying it's won us loads past years..

Yes ,wr are pretty average this season ,but what makes players make so many individual errors every game and totally collapse from winning situation??this is not only legs have gone shit , this has to be something deeper.
