We line up for a press with a front 4 who then dont really press and just stamd in no man’s land leaving the midfield wide open. We do this every fucking game. Pep man, we either press or we sit back. This half and half shit is a shit show.

He's stubborn and won't move away from his approach.

Kovacic watched Diaz run past him for the second and then thought it would be a great idea to flick it in the air for Lewis for the third.

Another game given away, how many times are we going to shoot ourselves in the foot?!?!
It could've been so different but more injuries and out of form players cost us again.

I thought we played alright in spells, but we were so wide open at times with tge chances we gifted them, we could've been hammered. The right side of our defence was awful all night.

I was baffled by the line-up, i didn't understand rushing Ake back and why didn't we start with a number 6?

Then i was baffled by the subs, I like Rico, but come on, he ain't a defender, so putting him up against Vinicius was always going to be asking for trouble, if we weren't putting on Khusanov then at least put Nunes on at least he's got pace!

And as for Ederson, he made some great saves but he ruined his night by costing us 2 goals.

I just think we need to go back to basics now, to try and get into the top 4.
With the players we have, just play 4-5-1 with round pegs in round holes.

Tonight summed up our season for me and it was so disappointing!

If you did you wouldn't have had him on the pitch at the end of the game. That is Nathan Ake sadly, great player but castay fit.

If Pep has taken him off it's for a reason, I trust Pep's judgement over yours or Paramount.

The 2 late goals we conceded were down to Keeper, DM and full back errors, not the position Ake or his replacement were occupying!

Thanks for agreeing with me again. No I didn't as a matter of fact. And how nice you have a headseat with Pep. As far as paramount - wtf do they have to do with anything. His sub was planned all along. But he didn't HAVE to come off because of injury. There IS a difference. You can't tell there is a difference between how Grealish and Akanji went off as opposed to Ake? Get real dude.

Yep, imagine if that was Liverpool playing Real tonight it would've been relentless from them and they probably would've smashed them. Totally there for the taking tonight but we played at a snails pace and didn't penetrate their makeshift defence nowhere near enough

Missed opportunity for me…

Madrid looked shite at the back and their front 3 stopped pressing so we had acres of spaces to run into but ultimately we lacked confidence and once again look shit scared to play OUR game.

We play like we are so scared of everything and then the errors creep in and we are fucked.

Personally it’s about time we freshen the team, Kev and Bernardo look slow as fuck constantly , it’s time to think of the near future.

Shameful we never played with fast wingers aka Marmoush or Doku tonight given how vulnerable Madrid were.

It’s painful to watch at the moment but I’ll be there Saturday cheering the fuckers on

I'll use Orient as an example..

They played well against us, as most teams do now.

Regardless of what we've achieved in the past even the whole of the second string with a few kids involved should be playing better then we are.

They players all seem a bit meh in their general play.

We all know what we've achieved and expected a drop off of some sorts but it's the manner in which it keeps happening.

It's no coincidence..

Fair enough. I do agree with you to an extent, Its just not bothering me too much at this stage and I’m expecting it to be the same for the rest of the season and I’m ok with that.

Next season I wouldn’t be :)

The way we are conceding games hurts. You just know it’s coming. I think Pep is becoming too loyal to those that won us so much. The tragedy is so much was good tonight. Stones in midfield. Dias. Guardiol was superb. Haaland nerveless. So many fucking injuries to players that are clearly broken and we refuse to use those that we bought to replace them.
There are clearly players that are playing in positions that they aren’t good enough or suited to playing. Poor Rico. Tonight is enough to completely destroy his confidence. That’s on Pep. The guy is a utility midfielder not in a million years a full back. Neither is Nunes. Why does Jack break down so regularly? Not enough proper match minutes?
How many injuries today? Another 3?

Needs to be removed from the squad permanently. Sold, moved on, contract terminated, given cleaning duties - as far from the field as humanly possible.

I cannot remember a player looking so out of place in a top class football team for many a year.

I remember when Rico broke into the team and everyone was raving about him ‘Rico , Rico ‘. chants around the ground. Funny old game football. ….That said , it’s difficult to see any game changing elements to his play.

Yes I’m saying that. not one of them will be good enough for us. They were panic buys. They remind me of the transfer window when we won the league with Mancini.they are not good enough from were we came from or where we want to go. All huge downgrades on the players they’re supposed to be replacing. And you can add Doku and Savhino to that list

He put Rico on at half time because he wanted him inverting into midfield. That's fine, when he's in a strong team - otherwise Lewis can't do it - he's lost there. Then, when he has to defend, they've got him on toast, apart from 1 tackle.
He is not a midfielder or right back at the top level; and tonight he was facing the top level of attack. He's poor; period!
In the last month, Pep's left him out for Nunes, but against the best attackers, he brings him back after he looked reasonable against Leyton bloody Orient! (By no means am I saying that Nunes is the answer; Kusanov, or Reiss, probably is!)
He looked like the schoolboy that he still is. Sorry Pep; Lewis failed us tonight, and that was down to you. I can see he isn't good enough at the top level so why can't you? We needed Kusanov on when Akanje went off. Of all the youngsters champing at the bit to get minutes, Pep always favours fuckin' Lewis - the lightweight!
What a let down - we nearly rode our luck tonight. Why bring Marmoush on so late? In the end, we had no midfield at all - and then our weak defence and goalie gave them the game in the last 10 minutes. Once again! Fuckin' groundhog day!
I look forward to the team selection for Newcastle. The 1st hour tonight had promise! But, who the fuck is going to be fit, available, and in Pep's good books? Lewis, KDB, Gundo, Kova and Bernardo are all worryingly fit, with Akanje, Ake and Grealish probably injured again, so unless Pep can get some magic out of someone, we're fucked in the next 3 games. Newcastle, Real Madrid and then Liverpool; fuck me!

We were decent for much of the first half, the team on paper looked a bit weird but once the players got to grips with it I thought we played well

We then slowly morphed into the shite version of ourselves

Taking off Akannji an Grealish didn’t help, then within Ake gone the whole system had to be re jigged

We then end the game with three old men in midfield and the nerves got the better of us

Never really thought we’d go through over the two legs but taking a lead over there at least kept the tie alive

Looks like it’s fa cup or bust

He's not passed it , the guy has been up for man of the match in all of Milans games since joining. He looks like the old walker, hasn't even made a mistake. He looks nothing like the Walker we had this season. I think Peps lost some of the dressing room, Walker being one. Maybe a couple more.

No chance Pep has lost the dressing room. Those players tonight were willing to run through brick walls for him. We just shot ourselves in the foot, again. It’s not lack of effort it’s lack of not making a balls up. Ederson had a great first 80 minutes and then fucked it. Not because Peps lost the dressing room, because he had a brain fart

2nd leg in Bernabeu has the all ingredients for it to be a horrible game. we cannot do our slower approach of sideways passing imitated as attacks. we need to go out and work our ass off early on to get the lead. if they get the lead we need to keep risking it and push forward which will leave huge spaces for them to exploit with their speed.

whatever we do will take brutal amount of energy from us with added disappointment from our worst CL run in last decade all this leading up to a game vs dippers...
