Look at Bellingham shot hahah

They passed the ball from like 50 meters away , from theris own half curving it to left, in one moment Lewis was two steps in front Jude, very next second Jude was in front of Ederson hahah
Glad you found it amusing

I agree with this, he made some important tackles. Last goal was a shocker but he was played a shocker.

Don’t get all the hate for this lad. No I don’t think he’s world class (yet) but he works hard, has done throughout a shit season for the whole team. I never question his work ethic. I do think he doesn’t have the physicality for his role currently.

Might possibly need a few more games to reach that level, mate.

It's kind of curious to see the disrespect that Rico gets on this forum, and then compare it to some neutral perspectives. Was watching the Sky programme hosted by Nieve (otherwise known as Stuntpegg on Youtube). The contrast between their assessment of Lewis as a player and what's said on here was downright startling.
I've said all along that he's not a right back, nor a full back of any kind. And it is a mistake by Pep to be playing him in that position. But Pep apparently thinks the world of him. Is Pep therefore an idiot?

This is in a way the problem with Rico - If you were told that for the next 3 to 5 years he would be a key part of our midfield would you be happy that we could reach the highs of when we had prime Bernie, Kev or Gundo? I really don't know what his best position is but in recent games when he's lost possession I don't like that he is so slow to try and get back to make amends. Plus I don't see him being able to pick out a forward pass - he's good at passing short but hasn't got that killer pass in his armoury.

In recent years we have had some of the world's best midfielders from Yaya through Merlin to Kev I will never believe that Rico can join that list as a complimentary piece. I don't even see him as an impact sub - he's had 85 games and I can't see him in the centre or out wide, never see him as a number 10 - If we go out and buy a Wirtz type player added to Nico & Rodri that becomes your first choice midfield so where would he play?

We would all love a homegrown player to be the next superstar but for me Rico came in when we were a very good side and looked decent but he hasn't improved and is prone to errors wherever he plays. I just don't see a long term position for him in a side challenging at the highest level.

There's a place for him in the squad, Pep clearly loves him for a reason, but our squad building has been so shit that we've had to rely on him. I'm not convinced he would succeed at another club at right back though.

he needs to be introduced into settled team where his mistakes doesnt cost as much as this season. now every small mistake we do is punished severely let alone the big mistakes which we also commit a lot in tactical ways and personal level.

there isnt any kind of midfield screening and help to the defence line this season, so for him to act as inbetweener as a defender-stepping up midfielder is crazy. doesnt give us anything higher up and makes it harder for him to do a proper job in RB too. worst of both really.

he absolutely has a place in squad but that should be a heavily rotational role in easier cup and league games to help relaxing better players when we host Ipswich, Leicester, Soton type of teams and the lower league Carabao, FA games and some easier CL games...
