City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

think your getting confused with the 115 case mate ,we are still on a wing and a prayer with the big one
Are we?
I think not. Both sides legal teams know the broad outcome for all the major legal points in the judgement.
Only last minute dispute of a legal point made by the tribuneral at the end of November could change that.
Also if the PL were going to be successful we would know about it by now because it would have leaked after the legal eagles talked to their PL paymasters.

The BBC news story on this is reduculous
Premier League sponsorship rules 'void' says tribunal: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c78xpp3vlkko

If the rules are rull and void you can't "blue pencil" them which is what November's ammendments were supposed to do.

Some one at the beeb is clutching at straws.

That tribunal clearly hasn’t looked at nor ruled on the post Nov rules - that’s why City brought a new case last week to get a ruling on the amended rules. You’d expect those amended rules to come crashing down too.

Not sure why everyone is having a go at Lawton. He gave a rather good interview on Talksport and made note of how some media were parroting the leagues lines.

thought his article was fine bar the 'owned by Abu Dhabi' bit as standard though, not heard the TS interview

I think the vast majority on here don't either, myself included.
Quick summary.

In 2021 the premier league bought these rules in after the Newcastle takeover so any sponsorship linked to your clubs owner(s) the value of the that sponsorship was determined by the premier league not the club\owners. They're are reports the premier league unvalued or even blocked these sponsorships.

The inpendent panel have deemed these illegal and null and void. Potentially clubs affected by this can sue the premier league for loss of earnings
