City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

After following various statements about today's announcement I have concluded tentatively that this is not yet another victory for the premier league! I feel that Masters will be lucky to survive, especially if he ever shows his face at the Etihad ... or Forest ... or Everton ... or Newcastle ... or Villa ... or even at any of the cartel clubs who may face a bill for FMV interest payments.

I do fear that we may not have heard the last of all this nonsense. The PL statement sounds as though they have learnt nothing and intend to persevere with their "new" rules. How long that will last remains to be seen. Maybe some clubs will consider they have been bitten badly and should be a bit shyer in the future if these amendments fare no better at the hands of the IC. But we must remember that an IC found that the PL was right to regulate APT's, if it could find a fair way of doing it through a process that is transparent and fair for all. The PL's connections and personnel may make that impossibly difficult.

Whatever happens City will make sure they behave themselves like good boys and girls.

i'm confused i thought the premier league only voted in amendment to the apt rules in november to try and make them legal so how can the premier league still say there effect

While it's great news for City it's by no means over. We've still got APT2 to come and the changes made by the PL may have been enough to stave off the need for scrapping it altogether. So by all means have a beer on todays good news but know we've still got another judgement to come (and I don't mean the 115 charges nonsense).
I don’t think anyone is silly enough to believe it’s over. But it certainly feels like a hammer blow in a heavyweight fight where the Premier League have wobbly legs as they seek some sanctuary on the ropes. Also though nobody wins really as it strengthens the European Super League which is already here by stealth. It’s great news and I’ll be celebrating tonight, but The Premier League will continue on its suicide mission at the behest of the red shirts.

I have been waiting for this moment for a long time.
The whole APT/PSR is a shit show, a restraint of trade.
If the APT v1 is not retrospective then can we not just gain the balance of the original terms of any sponsorship that fell foul in the first place?
The Premier League are just delaying the inevitable imho.
“Clear and organised”.
