From Pep's press conference ................

"tomorrow, do you think we can compete with Newcastle’s physicality?"

Surely that means that Khusanov has to play - he is not afraid of mixing it up a bit. A few strong tackles and a fair referee would make the Geordies think a bit about their tactics.
 
I thnk Joel Linton is out for them.....which is a bonus

Khusonov Id play at right back - at least he has the pace to keep up with Antony Gordon

Hopefully Nico is fit to start - adds a bit of physicality in there.... if he aint id play Kovasic in there as again at least he has legs and can get about....no Gundo, No KDB and no rico please

We would have a stronger base and the 3 smaller players (foden, Bernardo and Marmoush) can at least press.
There is a lack of creativity but we have to stop them scoring first and foremost at present. You cold argue Savio for either Marmoush or Bernardo but I think that leaves us a bit more exposed in midfield.

It aint about stopping Isak....its about stopping the supply to Isak which is important,....especially through the middle of the park where if we give them time the likes of Tonali and Bruno G will pick those passes in behind our defence for Isak or Gordon (hence why maybe playing berndardo more central would be better as he at least has some tenacity about him to try and stop those players....again play KDB in there and Bruno G ad Tonali will have all the time in the world.

Not liking Pep's defeatist attitude, it's like every team we play at the minute is stronger and more physical than City, in Pep's eyes anyway

This is no surprise really is it?
Its why after the treble season he struggled - people just dont want to say it
People warned about his off field personality when we bought him - its so obvious that he is a bit of a party boy and those type of players rarely reach their full potential (Ronaldihnio aside).
He can be sold for me in summer.....we need better - he has got as far as he is ever going to get and for me he has been lucky to be part of this side in the previous years.

The declining physicality of 1-2 players has been obvious for years. Nothing was done until January. The decision to start KDB vs Real Madrid was questionable too.

Khusanov is very young. I think he may start against Newcastle. I would like to use KDB as a sub. and give Marmoush a bigger role. There's also a question as to whether Gonzalez will start.
 
I just hope we play a bit deeper and up the tempo a bit. If we allow Isak space to run into then he will make it a difficult game. He is different class and will punish any cock ups.

Not sure who's fit and available but we have to try something different than trying to play the game ultra slowly.
