him: seems like city have played the card they always rely on... paying people megamoney to keep quiet.

me: which people, to be quiet about what?

him: city bigwigs have paid the premier league bigwigs off to smooth things over.

me: they lost in court.

him: a paid court.
just ask him if he wants prime rib eye for tea or horse meat

Yes, pretty clear any loss would be minimal. As you have pointed out many times, Etihad is still on the shirt so there has been some sort of "deal" for 24/25. If the club was 20 million cash short for a year because of this, any financial claim would be small.

I am much more interested in what the club's bigger picture is, if they want to continue with APT2. There must be one ....
In the past, the clubs have reevaluated their existing sponsorship deals to a higher amount and signed a revised deal before the existing deal ran out.
Is it possible that a club could have signed a revised deal at a higher value but couldn’t do so due to it being rejected initially under the unlawful apt1 rules ? And only approved later.

Might be a redundant question if the scenario didn’t apply to city but could it be possible?

If Newcastle can prove that that since 2021 their deals have been written down due to APT rules then the provable losses could be huge.

It is a Tribunal not an IC. And it said nothing about claims.

Very few deals were ever rejected but in theory claims can come. But they need to show loss. Not headlines, loss.
If the 4 clubs who voted against APT2 release statements that they’re now considering compensation claims against the PL in light of the tribunals verdict, does that create a problem/ pressure for the PL executives and the PL brand (regardless of whether those clubs follow through with the claims or not) ?

Even if the clubs don’t release statements but feed into their press sources and their press sources write about it coming from
Anonymous sources at various clubs?

I like to know the nuance of the judgement. I'd rather know that from someone I consider to be objective rather than a Magic Hat or Delaney, so I will continue to listen to @slbsn and value his contribution even if he may not always say exactly what I want to hear.
This all day and every day.

I seriously don't understand why, on the back of yesterdays news, certain posters seem intent in joining in on a pile-on on Stefan, misquoting at will in order to "prove" their point (presuming there is a "point" somewhere in their ramblings).

It's a glorious day, try enjoying it.

Text him back and call him a stupid deluded RB

This all day long. Most Blues, including me, have knee jerk reactions to news related to our club. The level headed approach @slbsn keeps me in check…

I suppose, but the likely financial damage would be minimal and the consequential damage difficult to claim I would imagine. Imho.

Is it possible that both parties may now withdraw from APT2? It seems we have already achieved what we wanted with APT1.
I'm still confused as to why the PL are claiming that the APT2 rules are all fine and dandy if all they did was change a paragraph or three from the original APT rules. I can't see us withdrawing and it's not up to the PL regardless (presuming we're talking about putting it to the panel of course).

I wouldn't say Stefan is in the Premier League camp ffs haha. He made an education guess about something, nothing more.
The problem is not in making an educated guess but defending it when it’s proven not to be correct because it wasn’t fully taking into account all the information available to city’s legal team.

And it’s not a problem for anyone else but himself because he appears to have put himself in a corner and continually Defending his position. I am feeling sorry for the guy.

Because they are cunts. They were still saying apt 1 was all good until they ran into actual legal process.

Don't feel sorry. As long as people are polite and enter proper discussion (preferably having actually read what the decision says) I am fine. I am defending a position I believe to be correct - it is not that complicated.

You have made two mistakes.

1. You have a rag mate

2. The rag you have befriended is thick as fuck.

You’re welcome;)

how likely is it stefan that the new rules brought in november will be found to be lawful
It looks like the PL have an issue on the retrospective aspects of the shareholder loans. But as I say, I havent seen City's pleadings which would set out their arguments.
