The team yesterday looked like a proper team for almost the first time this season. I don't think he will try Khusanov at right back in this game for the first time but I would like to see him play so maybe Pep will go with an unchanged side.I think Pep will look at the result of Newcastle game and plan accordingly.
Nico, Marmoush & Khusanov integrated well, the way Stones, Nico, Khusanov & Rico coped with “the most inform striker in Europe” bodes well. Khusanov’s pace might mean he comes in to replace Rico at left back & Dias will drop in his usual role.
Hopefully Haaland is OK, his & Marmoush will be a handful within movement
Same exact team as yesterday. No reason Nico, Omar, and Khusa shouldn't be starting this.Put out a similar team as yesterday and we can beat them.
They were mediocre last week but just good enough to punish our mistakes.
From what i saw, i wouldn't be worried about them if we were near our high standard, we're just not sure how we are going to perform
Pep will also have an eye on the dipper game. The team yesterday looked like a proper team for almost the first time this season. I don't think he will try Khusanov at right back in this game for the first time but I would like to see him play so maybe Pep will go with an unchanged side.
I suspect he’ll bring Dias back in if he’s fit, maybe move Khusanov to right back.Same exact team as yesterday. No reason Nico, Omar, and Khusa shouldn't be starting this.
Would like the energy and battling of Bernie in middle with NicoI suspect he’ll bring Dias back in if he’s fit, maybe move Khusanov to right back.
But other than that, he should leave well alone. Bernado and De Bruyne haven’t played anywhere near well enough to justify their inclusion.
Lucky git, have a great tripJust back, Now packing my bag for Madrid come on city
All fair points (although Phil produced a big moment again as recently as Tuesday?), but if we go into this with a containment mindset, I can only see it petering out into a lame exit. The worst of all ways to go out.Thought Phil played well last Tuesday. The question is not whether he can help us in attack, but how to field a balanced team that wouldn't make it easy for Real to create chances. We need more bodies in midfield to help out the defence.
Currently, Savinho is doing better as a winger and Marmoush isn't likely to get benched after yesterday's performance. Adding Foden to them and Haaland makes us too open and soft in the middle. Real are much better than Newcastle and play at home...
People go by past glory and want all the big names in the starting XI, e.g., both KDB and Foden. It's better to go with those who are in better form now and field a team that not only can attack but also defend.
Presumably you are referring to our mini-Rodri. The man himself will definitely not play this side of May.I'm convinced Rodri will play.
He's far ahead of were we thought he would be. I think he's certainly a shock inclusion
So you expect Nico to run the entire midfield single handed? Meanwhile, it wouldn't surprise me if Haaland starts from the bench after his injury. Bernardo has previous against Madrid so may start in his place.Play as young a team as possible (within reason). If we go out then so be it but please don't go with oldies and end up having the same stutters as usual.
.............Ederson..............
Khusonov Stones Dias Gvardiol
...............Nico.................
Savinho ....Foden .........Doku
.......Haaland Marmoush.......
What colour is the sky, in your parallel universe? :-)I'm convinced Rodri will play.

Let's let them worry about us.
Since the draw, they'll have been watching our results and hoping we don't suddenly 'click' - yesterday's 4-0 won't have done them any good at all.
As I've mentioned somewhere else on here - I think RM at the Bernebeu, especially being 1 down - calls for something out of the ordinary that might have a shock effect.
Why not go flat-out at them from the start - if it doesn't work out and we let a couple of early ones in, we can accept that the tie's lost and just dig in, avoiding any lasting damage.
When we beat them 4-0, all the wind was taken out of their sails during a relatively short Bernie-inspired onslaught. Their hearts can definitely be broken when they suddenly realise they're in a real dog-fight.
I'd really hate this to turn into the coronation that a lot of them will be expecting...
Differing opinions - I suspect that Pep's will align with yours more than mine :-)Nah, my point is about balance, not about fear or giving them too much respect. If we are unreasonably open, then the tie may be over in the first 30 minutes.
Again, Real are not Newcastle. The formation and tactics that worked vs. Nrwcastle at home are not likely to work vs. Real away. Common sense that. Let's give us the best chance to compete against a top team at their ground. Going gung ho or with 5 defenders isn't likely to work. Balance.
This will be pretty close to the team imo.Ederson
Khusanov
Stones
Dias
Gvardiol
Nico
Bernardo
Foden
Marmoush
Savinho
Haaland

I just think that taking a conventional approach in this particular situation will only end one way.
