City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Nice but it hasn't stopped either of the people I've said it to chatting shit. So not that good!

Well I for one thank you. Please continue informing.
You have the patience of Job, Especially sitting next to that Jordan. His piece in the Mail about us a year ago was disgraceful. Just please don't trust him. He really doesn't like your superior knowledge.

Reckon other clubs don't like the contacts we have around the world and how we find it "easier" than other clubs to get sponsors! It's why they want to make the Etihad sponsor related because how we can renew it update it for achievements! Maybe totally wrong but you look at other clubs finding it hard to get a decent sponsor..
We tried to split the stadium away from the shirt but there were no takers.

Funnny isn't it that when old spitting image head Jack Walker came along and bank rolled the yonners to the league it was a fairy tale, no financial restraints then of course, we all know why UEFA and subsequently national football associations brought in financial constraints, fuck all to do with stopping clubs going insolvent which was their lying premise but because the usual suspects in european football eg AC Milan, Inter, Juventus, Bayern, Madrid, Barca, rags, bindippers, arse, spurs( ha!) etc couid see City and PSG and other clubs potentially in the future fucking up their gravy train which of course has come to fruition, the likes of Sam fuckin Wallace pretending football was some egalitarian competition is just fuckin laughable. MCFC OK!

This bit especially

Think that was a mistake on our part, but we probably thought playing nice and showing goodwill would be replicated. Bet we don't fall for that again.
The definition of ‘associated’ was all about getting round the fact that our AD based sponsorships were not ‘related’ under IAS24. I assume part of the PL case is that our sponsorships are caught by IAS 24, contrary to our approach in the audited accounts. They won’t win that one.

It's one thing to say that new APT rules on shareholder loans should not apply retrospectively, even if the loans have been judged unfair and uncompetitive.

What about loans still in place (and new loans)? I should try and get my head round the rules but I hope someone who knows can explain (no guessing please).

The club has the money loaned to it, puts it in the bank at interest and uses the interest to buy players. How is that dealt with under APT and PSR? Presumably they could just give the money back to the owner. (Not Chelsea of course.)

How the fuck have PSG passed any financial tests in these last 10 years.
No money from the French league, no champions league success, no tv money.
Yet at one point they had Messi, Neymar and Mbappe upfront.
No one has ever said anything because they have been underperforming year after year.
They have only gone after us because we have dominated.

Tbf, UEFA tried but M. Leterme chaired the investigatory panel and let them off. Absolutely nothing to do with PSG’s chairman being in the same job for Bein Sports who had just paid a huge sum for the tv rights to the champions league.
Honest, no connection whatsoever. Leterme’s calculation of PSG’s worldwide sponsorship deal was 100 m euro, whereas the independent assessor reckoned it was worth 9m, iirc.

He also got voted on a uefa board. Bent as fuck mate.

Because to the average uninitiated person, it all adds to the City are industrial sized cheats & crooks who're trying to bully football with their oil wealth narrative.

If we don't fight our corner, who will?
do you honestly think that city fans reading this thread are unaware of the narrative you speak of?

okay
let me tell you a story...

when i was young we had a big family trip to whitby for the weekend.

my grandfather was treating everyone.
he'd had a seismic victory on the pools
(although some were saying it was only a small win)

while we were away all our neighbours became bitter,
telling people that my grandad was a cheat.

in whitby, though, we were generally in a good mood,
discussing the win and other interesting things.
and it should have been celebratory all weekend.
but there was one family member seemingly determined to piss on everyone's chips.
us kids called him "uncle prannock".

all weekend he kept going on about negative things.
some folk humoured him,
but most became tired of his narrative.

you remind me of my uncle prannock.

The hardest thing will be everyone asking Stefan’s opinion on a 500 page judgement without allowing him the time to digest it.

Meanwhile the great unwashed & us will be arguing based on sentences in a language & on a subject that we don’t understand…… can’t wait ;)
i'll certainly be joining in that bit :)

The absolute hypocrisy from Darren Lewis and Sam Wallace.

"It allows those with the most resources to spend the most and stay at the top leaving the Premier League resembling Spain and Germany." (not verbatim).

Again, as thousands have said, where was this pushback in the 90s when suddenly, after large unaudited cash injections, Liverpool, Arsenal and manyooo ran and won everything??????

And guess what?!?!?!
Along comes the millions from the newly formed Premier League for the few at the top.

And then guess what again?!?!?! Along comes the riches from the Champions League

Leaving all but 3 or 4 to challenge every year for the Premier league and to get the riches from the chumps league.

YOU UTTER F**KIN HYPOCRITES
Without doubt, they never said anything when FFP came in to keep three or four, red shirted clubs in the ascendancy and at the the same time trying to fuck us over. Darren Lewis , who by the way is a Liverpool fan, is a hypocrite.

Are you OK there fella? You sound like you need to go for a lie down in a dark room...

And then on top of all that they introduced a set of regulations that specifically prevented any teams from challenging that status quo even if they had the financial means to do so.

I don't think it's in anyone's interest to go back to the financial free-for-all days of the past but Sam Wallace is being willfully ignorant if he genuinely thinks the current rules don’t produce the exact same outcome that he's describing (just with different teams).
