I keep hearing about the scum having no money and being "in the shit", but they've been "in the shit" for years now, and yet the fuckers are still operating. It seems like they're less "in the shit" and just "inconvenienced" by the lack of transfers.

I want "in the shit" to mean "haemorrhaging". I want "in the shit" to mean "insolvent". I want "in the shit" to mean "administration". So until someone can provide evidence that United are "in the shit" to mean one of those, i'll just stake "in the shit" to mean "not made as much profit as they did last year".

They would be Leeds Utd from 20 years ago but on steroids

I was trying to convince myself it could happen but they would only have to pick up 3 or 4 points between now and the end of the season to be safe

Even with that , we would need Ipswich to pick up 16 points from 13 games

Take the emotion and rivalry out of it and look at it purely from a business perspective.

Getting relegated might well mean that united are no longer the cash cow that the Glazers clearly see them as and they may decide or be forced to sell up.

Meaning United could end up with competent and wealthy owners.

Careful what you wish for.

The PL will always concede some one-off set of deductions that allow them to evade the sh.. but emergency mid-season ticket price increases and Rashford and Antony loaned out by a team that cannot score goals will do for now.

Like Ratcliffe, oh yeah you said competent.

Even if they were to get relegated, the Glazers would still want top dollar to prop up their other businesses, you then add the players being on ridiculous wages,no relegation clause & owing millions in transfer fees to other clubs. They have the potential to go the same way as Leeds & Portsmouth if the banks proping up the house of cards call in their loans as we've no idea what they are hiding by being registered in the Cayman Islands.

Once we are cleared of 115 charges I can see them pushing hard to resurrect the Super League

The Beeb today said this season for us is “calamitous”.
Er…
We sit 4th.
We have a shot at the champs league.
We have a decent shot at the FA Cup.
We have a shot at the world club championship and will earn a pile from it.
We have three excellent new players.
The rags would give their right arm for such a calamitous season.

Or the media could put an evil negative spin on the rags, worldwide. A positive spin on God's own club, ongoing, year on year. The trillions of day trippers will jump ship en masse. Turning the mighty blues into the biggest club in the universe.

Actually, Ashley gets a deal of unfair criticism.
He took over a club mired in debt and sold it as a debt free going concern. The reason they did not too well on the pitch was because, unlike the rags, he refused to spend their way out of trouble.
