Let's try a 4-4-2 for the first time this season tonight, asking our on form winger to play a role he never did before, providing no help to our new 20 years old CB playing RB

I envy any city fan that had any hope going into this game tbh. Not being defeatist in the slightest but losing last weeks game was it for me. Game over. Done. This is a game I’d normally be pretty nervous for but all week I’ve not even given it a thought.

Madrid ain’t losing a home tie when they’re a goal up against a team that’s in as bad a patch as us. Add in Haalands injury it just wasn’t to be.

Peps team selection tonight seriously questionable, but I don’t think our squad whatever way you look at it is good enough at present to compete against this Madrid team. If we’d have have won last week id have some optimism but that late collapse ended it for me. Complete midfield refresh in the summer and go again next year.

It was probably the correct move not playing Haaland. He wouldn’t see anything here.

Unless the manager has a complete system overhaul I can’t see much changing in the long run, irrespective of which players are on the pitch.

Well that was abysmal, too many uninterested, lazy arse performances on the pitch tonight. One goal and they have crumbled big time

This’ll end 4 or 5 with us having no impact on their goal, the game is passing some of the players by,others slightly nervous and a couple just haven’t the energy or legs ..

They're just way better than us. They should have scored 5 in the first leg and this time, Mbappe has his shooting boots on. System looks disjointed but when you go behind after 3 minutes and then Stones goes off immediately after, it's going to have an impact.

what’s the past 5 years got to do with anything? They obviously weren’t going to last forever, how fucking stupid. To especially neglect the midfield for a Pep side of all managers. That’s showing ambition when it’s too late! How they thought Savinho and Gundogan was enough was beyond laughable.

If it makes you feel better, Gundogan was only signed because Barca cut him at the last minute so it's not even like he was a planned move, just an extra player that became available.

So... just Savinho was considered enough.
