My goodness. Yes, just coz actions can be predicted with accuracy in some scenarios doesn't mean that's what is going on here.
What we have here are doon and gloom merchants hoping for the worst coz they don't like the person in office.
That's not using ones reasoning faculties. Just wishful thinking.
A reminder that it took Hitler less than 2 months (one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours, and 40 minutes to be precise) to dismantle Germany's democratic structure of government in the following way:
Used the law to make his actions seem legal,
Eliminated his opposition,
Changed the law, allowing him to become a dictator
The build up to that point was essentially him and his party creating a crisis, blaming immigrants for that crisis and then stirring up hatred against those people so he could manipulate people into thinking the only way to solve that crisis is to elect and support him in an 'only I can fix this' kind of way.
Uncanny the resemblance.
I think TMT has adequately demonstrated a precedent whereby "using ones reasoning faculties" might perhaps suggest waiting for it to happen could result in the ship capsizing
