Our season was summed up with Dias's pass out of defence hitting Kovacic's backside.
I thought we were fine today but not effective, whereas the Redshite were effective. The stats at HT showed the same tale of all the ball in blue, most of the shots on target but a defense that when it was cornered just hooved it, whereas we have to play it out, get caught and hey ho!I thought we played OK, today. It was down to fine margins. If Marmoush stays onside then we are back in the game. Marmoush should have also squared it to Foden when he shot.
Liverpool did not look great but took their opportunities.
I honestly don't think we are a million miles away. We need full backs and a replacement for Kev.
The fact that Doku, Savinho, Nico and Khus were our best players today, gives me some hope for the future.
What a recovery tackle by Khusanov though! Our season was summed up with Dias's pass out of defence hitting Kovacic's backside.
I wish you'd go you clownIt's shockingly bad! I can only compare how our team currently play to watching a football trials game. It's akin to watching 11 random players, all wearing the same shirt, but with absolutely zero collective responsibility or plan. Everyone of them just does their own thing and trying to impress for their own benefit. Some of them should not even be on the pitch. KDB has began to look that out of touch that even basic passes are beyond him. Lewis is nothing more that a Guardiola vanity project, and would not get a sniff at another Premier League team. Foden clearly contributes more the his feckin barber than he does to our team. And all of it, is at the behest of one man, Pep Guardiola! Nothing, absolutely nothing, will change until he has gone.
Not an ounce of pressure on him either when he did itOur season was summed up with Dias's pass out of defence hitting Kovacic's backside.
Now our owners have said they won’t sack Pep but won’t stand in his way if he wants to go, could be the kiss of deathWe look like exactly what we've become, a side trying to get in the top 4. Not a top team, not a challenger, just another team. The reasons for it have been, and can be debated forever and a day. The upside is that as a club we're very well positioned to rectify the teams shortcomings. I don't think a lot of what's happened on the pitch this season will be at all palatable to some at the club.
Does Pep understand the gravity of the situation? We still play a suicidally high line. And there's no pressWe look like exactly what we've become, a side trying to get in the top 4. Absolutely spot on (sadly)They cruised through that game and had several gears left if they needed them - but they didn't. I doubt Salah broke sweat all game. They let us have the ball for long periods and knew we were toothless in attack. I wouldn't expect to see goals like that conceded at Conference level.
Special mention for Foden and De Bruyne who both had dreadful games. De Bruyne must realise it's over for him at this level after that performance.
The subs ? Kovetic, Gundogan and Dias - hardly building for the long term. No reserve striker on the bench. Marmoush - hmmmm...where was he when Doku was crossing it in the first half especially. Surely his job was to get in the box to feed off what Doku and Savinho produced. Neither him or Foden were anywhere to be seen. Might as well start McAtee next game if that's the best Foden can do.
All too slow, too safe, too passive. Too many touches slowing everything down to give them a chance to regroup and reorganise. Oh for a Fernadinho or anyone who could put a tackle in and show a bit of steel or to bollock someone when the time is right. No balls or fight in this dressing room.
Where have 'they' said this? Do you have the quotes? Now our owners have said they won’t sack Pep but won’t stand in his way if he wants to go, could be the kiss of death
Do we have one? He's not wrong though.
Our corners are the worst in the league. Way over hit. Easy catch for the keeper or fail to beat the first man.
No one makes a run or tries to confuse the opponents, or blocks defenders.
Our set piece coach needs fucking off!!
Well I'm m taking it that Pep's here and he's going to rebuild the team. That started in Jan and needs to be continued in the summer with no sentiment involved and no more half arsed signings either. Now our owners have said they won’t sack Pep but won’t stand in his way if he wants to go, could be the kiss of death
Source for that? Now our owners have said they won’t sack Pep but won’t stand in his way if he wants to go, could be the kiss of death
We are tucked and Viana has a huge task on his hands...one that is not going to be sorted in one summer transfer windowOther than that...
What do they do in training? Surely both the player and the coaches must see this? With all the technology available today they could sit down with each player and discuss their in match thinking.Doku is a strange one. Had Trent beat seven ways from Sunday but did absolutely zero after drifting past him time after time. Nothing. Not a decent ball in, not a decent shot. Nothing.
