Away fans / tourists in home sections

This will probably fall on deaf ears but feel how you want about tourists and away fans coming in the home end but do you not think battering a random tourist for celebrating their goal is a bit over the top? It stinks of misdirected anger to me. Who actually cares about football that much to throw punches en masse at some random Malaysian dude

Is that what happened? Feelings and emotions run high at football and no in the cold light of day it doesn't feel right. At the game though people are caught up with the crowd and the passion. Your team has just conceded a goal in a volatile game against fierce rivals. You're in the home end, a place there should be no opposition fans and then somebody jumps up celebrating the goal. It's going to wind people up, they're not robots.

If it's a foreign tourist fan I genuinely feel sorry for them. They are just fans of English football and want to watch a top game while visiting the country. Many don't understand the protocol of doing so and the fierce rivalry that exists at games. A simple "Sorry mate you're in the City end you can't celebrate Liverpool scoring a goal.in here" would suffice. If it's a scouser no sympathy, they know the score. I've watched many an away game in home ends, you have to keep your mouth shut and be respectful. Sure in an ideal world everybody would be able to sit/stand together but we all know that's not going to happen. Also anybody getting involved is likely risking a ban and a possible criminal charge, it just isn't worth it. Easy to say with hindsight though, in the moment emotions are running high. If you kill that emotion completely then football is finished.

On the back of threads re whole rows of non City fans attending games................Sat in my usual seat in the Colin Bell stand and saw the bloke in the picture with an Arsenal hoodie on! Me and my son are getting increasingly fed up of the amount of tourist fans attending games! They rock up at about a minute before Kick Off, stand around blocking your view taking selfies, then can't find their seat! Seems the club are increasingly more interested in revenue than die hard, born and bred 2025-02-24 AFC Fan at the Etihad 23-2-2025.jpgfans that stuck with the club through the dark times!

WTF that’s ridiculous. It’s out of control now.

The game us old school fans knew is dead and buried, that's why loads are giving it up in droves. Now the club love that atm but that model is only viable while the club are successful. These aren't fans with any loyalty or affinity with the club or area. They follow a certain star player or success. Once that ends they move on to the next big thing. So if the club are alienating the old school fans and no new younger local fans are coming through they're fucked if the bubble bursts. We certainly won't be getting 28/35,000 in the third division again that's for sure. Once you lose the habit and buzz for attending games it's gone forever.

A couple of tourists carrying litre bottles of water around the stadium, if you think about the barber incident how are they getting these things through?
The searches don't really cover liquids, just metals, I've managed to get a soft drink through whenever I've wanted to this season.

Annoying thing is, the club would rather clamp down on this to make more money, than sort the ticketing issues out.

why would he spend in excess of £70 for a match ticket when he supports Arsenal, would any of us realy have any interest in a Liverpool v Arsenal fixture except for looking at flashscores if they game had a bearing on our position in the table

Foreign tourists shouldn’t be anywhere near pure tribalism in the EPL , let’s get this right City and the dippers absolutely fucking hate each other wtf is a half and half day tripper doing stood in the middle of that lot ffs . It’s an absolute mental situation what is going on at city this season

If he gets an FBO applied then the club will do that anyway
Yes they will but he sounds confident that won't happen so cancelling direct debit now will save some money in the short term but cost a lot more in the long term when he doesn't have a season ticket

Possibly hoping Liverpool lose so helping Arsenal?

Seems this is an ongoing problem which can only get worse once the extension is completed.
Then again a couple of poor seasons and the tourists will vanish…problem solved.
Yes but the club should be doing now and looking after the poor sods that where there from the start and will no doubt be there should it start to slide .............fookng very dangerous game whats the phrase short term gains for long term losses ...........aint it fooking a sad state that folk who have gone for decades right back to the Maine Rd days are packing it in,my god the club should be bending over backwards to look after them , thats your bread and butter not some **** who turns up once a season.

As shit as we are i kow that i aint putting up with this shit but sadly its the modern game fook loyalty and all that ........so very sad

I had a similar conversation with a rag mate on Sat night. I think at some point the arse will fall out of the clubs support if that makes sense. The tourists will not turn up in sufficient numbers on a regular basis to compensate. Will be massively exacerbated with any prolonged downturn in performance/results. Matter of time regardless I suspect.

These Plastics are all over
Some Chinese on the metro the other day hadn't got a clue when we were trying to get past them at the Stadium Stop
They just blocked the exits and gawped
Of course they were dressed up in their 50/50s and all taking pics
Ffs City get rid of them
As I'm a legacy fan like a lot of others on here it's getting embarrassing
And to think We used to call Utd for their Tourist/Plastic Fans

Bloke in front of us had clearly seen enough by half time. Off came the new shirt he had bought from the club shop and into the bag it went, with all the other bits and pieces he’d purchased. Fuming he was
