I’m surprised that Branthwaite’s name hasn’t resurfaced, given the association trained slots that we will potentially be freeing up.

Stones will probably go but that will leave a space in the homegrown allocation not the free allocation so not sure how we'd squeeze Diomande in along with Cambiaso , and 2 midfielders plus most likely a keeper unless at least one of the midfielders was home grown. Especially if Grealish and Carson go too.

Tolmie mentioned a year or so a go that Txiki and Pep both really liked him but not sure if we ever officially moved for him. Palace like Mcatee though as well so that may help.

Gomes as CM is free in summer ( Lille). Could be the Bernardo replacement. Honestly 3 homegrown players are more than possible. Branthwaite would be too expensive I guess especially with huijsen out there for like half what Everton would expect.

Don’t know who he is unless you mean Viv ? ;) I’m sure there are home grown options other than Wharton Branthwaite but are they the level to replace Stones, Grealish Walker at their best, could be I just don’t really watch other teams unless we are playing them..

We’re one of the biggest and best ‘projects’ in world football and it’s one of the best places a player can play their football.

Like you say, not sure if true. All those players have been mentioned on here by loads of posters past few months as past it, not good enough etc. The summer could be really interesting recruitment wise.
