I agree , but a lot of this stems from our friends up the east lancs road . Our coach getting pelted , the city girl fan getting a cup of coins on her. Retribution is a horrible thing , it was going to happen.Only the club to blame for it.

It wasn’t just the one fan (the lad who got assaulted) there was loads of “neutral fans “ that people clocked , that lad who got the shit kicked out of him was just in the wrong place at the wrong time - a victim of simmering hatred towards Liverpool fans.Agree .

People clock , and I’ve done it myself , you know straight away who is a “blue”. But it’s a very fine dividing line to their actual allegiances for a fact.
Listen , I’ve been in the stretford end in a Derby (the 1–1 Curle penalty game ) but their wasn’t mobile phones back then , and I shit myself when Curle slotted in. Things are different now , more dangerous now in a lot of ways, people get their phones out to film the atmosphere. When we did it you remained as neutral as you could.
