Away fans / tourists in home sections

It literally says ‘Asian 20.9%’ ‘black 12%’. I then did this thing where I added those two figures together and it gave me a larger number after they were reckoned up. That figure is not 43.2%.

What the fuck has race got to do with anything anyway, tourists are from anywhere and any colour.

Marvin needs to drop this line he's looking a bit of a ****.

I’m the first to criticise the club a lot of the time but what have they done wrong in this instance? They sold a ticket in the home end to a city fan who got his phone out and people started punching him. Why is the club at fault?
They have done fuck all to protect city fans.
Have they found the scouser who dropped a plastic cup full of coins on the city girls head.
What about the Istanbul joke.
Constantly charging more and more.
The ground is over run with tourists and away fans in our end at our home game with old school proper blues priced out.
Away games are a fucking joke with 8 blokes wearing barca shirts at Anfield???.
What the fuck is happening
Yes this is unfortunate for this tourist city fan.
But it is the clubs fault.
They have been warned
It has been coming.
And it's going to happen more and more till they stop thinking about money and do something about it

City have never been a racist club or had a racist support. From Maine Road in Moss Side to East Manchester, we have always welcomed fans of every race, colour, and creed to City.

One of Citys first hooligans gangs were the Cool Cats, mostly made up of black working class lads. The Gouvners had loads of black lads.

I’ve never seen or heard a City fan racially abused by other City fans at the Etihad, or targeted because they are Asian.

It a real shame, in fact it’s fucking disgusting, that a certain poster on here is accusing City fans of being racist and deliberately targeting our Asian supporters.

He's probably never heard of the cool cats
Or the gouvners

This is Bluemoon mate, you’re lucky the figure wasn’t listed as 97%
The figure is from a 2021 census. 56.8% white. 43.2% non-white. You can argue whether mixed, or Arab are black or Asian if you want but that seems off the point.

I mentioned the demographics of Manchester in a comment a while ago to show that on a CL night when out of town blues don't go / can't go, the Asian faces may well be locals. It seems likely.

If the guy who got beaten in 115 was a case of mistaken identity then it shows the dangers of making assumptions about who people support.

We should stick with the issues of ticket prices and allocation, and any other points that impact all fans.

No it wouldn't. The problem is tickets from the 3,000 allocation going to those who are not city fans. Whether it's club employees, official touting agencies, or fans selling to unofficial agencies or on the open market is irrelevant. Individual fans sending tickets to agencies won't result in several tickets together as seen at Anfield and Ipswich.
A few years ago there was an article online about touts having thousands of STs at PL grounds. They sell at slightly above face value which could be 30-40% above the cost of the ST seat.
If these touts bought STs when they were readily available then it's possible to have several next to each other at home games. However for away games they just buy under one name and distribute via F&F assuming they have the points.
We need a system where only City fans can apply for away game tickets. Hospitality ST holders would have to nominate the user, who ideally would have a membership number. This would get rid of some of the problems but would address mass touting scams. We don't want to have random ticket checks for away games even though that would help.
This argument has been done to death

Nothing needs doing with away tickets, if you want one you will get one.

People only cry when it is the big games, Utd or Liverpool

The rest are a piece of piss to get and have been all this season and previously.

This season Ipswich, Brighton, Leicester, Palace, Villa, Newcastle, West Ham, Spurs and Chelsea i have seen tickets all over flying around and they will for Soton.

Neverton might be hard due to them leaving Woodison this year but never normally is.

The great man Peter Swales (ha ha) said if a fan wants to get a ticket and get in a ground they will. He said that at a function i was at in the late 80's

Always.

From those you describe down to more my age group with the Young Guvnors with Rodney etc.

There’s a group of four Mancunians of South Asian heritage who are moved next to me to my right from the adjacent block on CL nights. All proper Mancunian City fans. They are noticeably different to the seat to my left where it’s a tourist every game (unless it’s empty).

As I keep saying, you can tell the difference.

You are misinterpreting my comments. I know City's fanbase isn't racist. That's why a large number of Asian supporters including me are happy to come to watch City.

What I am arguing is that some people commenting in this thread have linked tourists to nationality. And that that is a dangerous argument. You posted an image of an Asian supporter who had made a City hat as if it was something we should laugh at.

It was rife in the Kippax against black players in the 80s and early 90s. And when you looked behind to see who had said it, they never failed to disappoint in their appearance.

Well you and John don’t seem to know that the Cool Cats forced the National Front out of Maine Road.

I like to think this obsession with tourists isn’t racially motivated but the longer it goes on the sadder it looks.
He was taking the piss as it was Kool Kats and Guvnors

What point are you trying to make

He was a City fan?

The https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Manchester say that the black and asian population in Manchester is 43.2%. Do not make data up to make a point. When I've been to Leeds, I've sat with a Leeds fan. I am a tourist on that occasion because I do not support either side, and I am just going because I can and because I like

Who’s linked the word “tourist” to nationality Marvin ? I’d prefer the word day tripper if I’m honest . Tourist is a euphemism for not being a week in week out regular fan.
I think you’re blowing this out of all proportion.

People trying to justify a blue getting twatted by blues because of issues with Liverpool fans, the fact he was a tourist ( I hate it when they get there fucking phones out) or any other reason just need to get a grip. So you can't support City if you are American? Was it the ticket office who threw some pretty nasty digs?
Fucking pathetic. I dont like how our fanbase has become more global but I certainly wouldn't dig a blue for it. Fucking coke heads in 115

When it happened he was a dipper

Now a few more rumours and he is a blue

No one knows the real truth

I know its a mess
I can tell you without any doubt he was a blue, not a scouser. Doubt me all you like but I know it is true through a contact well within the club.So he pulled his phone out? So fucking what. I hate it aswell but twatting him like that. Narrrr I hope they all get banned.
Whats the difference in the lads in 115 goading the scousers all game and vice versa?? Just cos it isnt on a phone..
