What do you do as solace after a defeat

Red Wine, copious amounts, I have to check the score next morning sometimes
I enjoy defeats nowadays.

Then smash a bottle of vodka
Then Sniff a gram of coke
Then message an ex telling them you still love them
Then log back on to bluemoon and write a senseless post
Then have a wank
Then have a 5 minute period pondering what you're doing with your life.
Then have another can
Then have another a wank
Then try to go to sleep
Standard day for @ancoats

;)

I watch some of my favourite rag games on Youtube.
Some players in those games show the rags in their true light. That Sergio bloke, Vincent somebody, Mario, Yaya.
And of course so many rags games this season, with one notable exception.

This looked like poetry to me and I'm so bored so I rearranged it. Hope you don't mind.

When city lose I like to take time to soothe my mind and body,
My routine starts with downing about a pint n half of voddie,
I snort a gram of coke and send a dick pic to the ex,
Next up its onto pornhub, I'm down to just my keks,
I spend the next 5 minutes wondering what I'm doing here,
Post something like "I want Pep Out" then have another beer,
Then it's back to wanking, then I'll count some sheep,
Then I'll do it all again coz we've got Tottenham in midweek.

Supporting City for 70 years there have been many painful defeats - some hurt more than others. I won't bore you with a list though.

In recent years I have adopted telling myself (and my wife shares the same sentiment) - it is a game of football.
Finding that your 7-year old grandson has been swept out to sea and drowned is a million times more painful.
Losing a daughter-in-law to cancer less than a year after their marriage is also up there - and the anniversary is tomorrow - so we need the boys to give us something to lift the sadness.
And then of course there are the deaths of family and friends.

The other things I do is avoid the media, ignore "toys out of prams" posts on the forum, etc.
And then be optimistic for a good result in the next game.

That puts things into perspective mate.

nowt, a defeat. (except against the rags) is forgotten 5 minutes after, shit happens seen as many if not more defeats than wins in my time as a blue, can't be crying or get arsed after every one of them otherwise I wouldn't have got through the 90s

I dig out and play the compilation CD mix I put together years ago featuring Leonard Cohen, Morrissey, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and so on.. 75 minutes of uplifting joy.. can't beat it..

Repeat what I did before the match …. Walk back into Town and do the same pubs in reverse order last train back to Vegas and walk home

I know this works as can’t tell the wife a fucking thing about the day or game when I get in-and only recall losing about an hour after coming round next day

Since I returned from that night in Istanbul, I seriously don't give two hoots if we lose games. On that night we climbed Everest and it's of no consequence if we ever do it again. In fact, you could argue that if we did it again, it dilutes our 1st win. In short, gone are the days of laying in bed rethinking the whole game through and trying to remove the mistakes and goals conceded from my memory. Of more concern now, is this turgid style of football we play. I don't mind losing, it's part of sport, what I hate however is players failing to perform and our club not being competitive, which sadly, is happening almost every time now.
