My nephew is a pastor in PA. One side of the river is a university outpost, mostly progressive Democrats; the other side is rural farming small town. Staying politically neutral is an art.

But (a) six of the people in his wife's family circle of acquaintances have lost their jobs;
(b) a lot of the farmers have planted wheat - to be sold to faith-based charities to feed people (with USAID money that has been cut) - legal action pending against DOGE;
(c) Rep congress members inundated with concerns - a lot of surface support for Trump but loads of private mutterings;
(d) that may come to a head with budget votes this evening - Republicans split between people who think even the Musk madness doesn't go far enough and those who already see the impact.

No. Trump is president because otherwise half-normal people hated “the Dems” or “the lady with the funny laugh” or the fact that “my eggs cost 2x as much” and voted for Trump despite ALL that came before them.

And some of them would again and again and again. Just wait for a bit; one of them will come around to argue about something bad Trump did that Biden also did, sort of, maybe, once to justify why he did support and should keep supporting Trump.

Without these naive common-senseless un-self-aware apologist types who can’t bear to vote for a flawed liberal against the patently-obvious maniac they’ve now unleashed on the globe, Trump loses.

Blame THEM.
