Not only was he rude in talking over the woman speaking it was a genuine misuse of power by the committee chair.

Comer was basically trying to ensure that what she and the previous Dem speaker wanted to say wasn't entered in to the record of committee.

They are simply not playing by the rules.
 
Isn't it funny that NEFTA was last signed by Trump and called the best deal ever made? Now he says, it's shit and the US get robbed. What a loser. Hard to believe one can run even a semi functional business with such a mindset.

From an earlier part:

This started when Frost called Trump the grifter-in-chief, and referred to President Musk.
He subsequently withdrew grifter-in-chief and used grifting and enriching himself in public office (or similar wording).
Comer barred him from having any input for the rest of the session. I'm not sure what cause there was to strike words from the record

It was a bit odd to say the least - the Trump fear is mighty. Government by the craven.
 
Dunno if true, or if mentioned before, but the whole USAID thing has really fucked farmers over. Most of their produce was made for shipping overseas, but that's just been wiped off their yearly income. So apparently the farmers will have produced a lot of stuff that's gonna go to waste.

I don't know much about economics, but that seems like a mega fuck up.

Comer is a sycophant who craves power. GOP committee chairs in general appear to have a complete disregard of the rules and are more than willing to play dirty. Clearly emboldened by their Grifter-in-Chief.

American farmers produce too much food on a regular basis, because they not only receive payments for producing it, but to keep prices stable they can also get paid NOT to produce it!

This smacks of the grain tariffs Trump imposed last time he fucked up with farmers and he ended up having to make $20B in payments to farmers to compensate them for the harm he inflicted on them…many of whom are his Red State base!!

The actions were probably governed by the rules of Decorum for the House and Senate.
Below, are the rules specific to the House:

"House Rule XVII, which covers decorum and debate. The key reasons a chair might strike words from the record include:
  1. Unparliamentary Language – If a member uses language that is deemed personally offensive, insulting, or inappropriate under House or Senate rules, the chair can move to have it stricken.
  2. Violating Rules of Decorum – Members must maintain decorum and respect when addressing colleagues, the President, or other government officials. Direct personal attacks or accusations (e.g., calling someone a liar) may lead to words being taken down.
  3. Referring to the President in a Disrespectful Manner – In the House, it is against the rules to insult or make personal attacks against the President.

  5. Objection by Another Member – If a member objects to language used in debate, the chair can rule on the objection and, if necessary, order the words stricken.

Those rules predates Trump. You can believe Trump is Hitler all you want. . But none of that changes what the rules were or are...

I am sure there would be other opportunities to cry fascist!!! This just doesn't seem like one of them. But what do I know.
