Away fans / tourists in home sections

I think you very much want to push the narrative that it's City fans touting and selling on.

Wasn't it you that pushed the removal of loyalty points for away games due to the mythical problem of "points whoring"??

Re-reading some of the old CM threads and the FG one currently open, it appears you also had a hand in that creation too.

I hope you can see on reflection the problem you were trying to fix for the club (SC holders picking and choosing and leaving empty seats, empithad jibes etc.) was probably a better situation than what we have now.

The 14 game policy, another trojan horse for removing SCs. I can't find anything on here where you've taken credit for that one to be fair but you seem quite proud of the other two

I appreciate it's been bastardised and I've no doubt you thought it was a good idea but I hope you now see that the ticketing sub committee or whatever you called yourselves have played right into their hands.

Just back to the point on rows of seats, blocks etc. It's 100% the club, not blind faith, facts

I listed my ticket for Sunday, it was "sold" within 2 minutes (email confirming it was listed 00:56am, email it was sold at 00:58am) of being put up, and the person in my seat bought it from a ticket site. Is that what the exchange was for?? I think the club has a system that siphons them off to these agencies, no other explanation for it going that quickly at that time of night

Here is one example of one of the City official partners listed on City’s OS. These are just for the ticket to the game, there are other offers on for a two night stay at a hotel.

City v Brighton €152
Away end ticket for United v City €391
City v Palace €199
City v Villa €321
City v Bournemouth €217

No mention anywhere about needing to be a City fan (even though that’s in City’s own Ts&Cs), not wearing colours of the away team, etiquette concerning the home end etc… nowt!

Just says,

Your package includes:

  • Official ticket for chosen game
  • Inclusions of matchday experiences
  • Access to GO Sport Travel Emergency Number
Event tickets are valid regardless of the event date

Although this was interesting; ‘The offer is not valid for resellers’.

A section for the home fans and one for the away fans and one for the tourists?

Year by year the home allocation dwindles and by the time they have finished shuffling us about we'll have the away fans allocation and bloody well like it :)

I'm only talking about the new stand. The one that's already going to be awash with tourists, hotel packages etc.

If it helps keep the rest of the ground free from trouble and well priced seasoncards, match tickets for all, who cares what goes on in NL2

The club extended the stadium without a long term plan for increasing SCs. It's their issue now to fix

It would work if it was marketed as that so the tourists knew where to go and the whole area - say 2 blocks - could be handed over to the ticket agencies as their allocation.

Glad that after I mentioned a neutral area a few weeks back some more seem to be getting on board with it solving a lot of our problems.
I’m so sick of it around now that I actually think it’s a good idea.

Five years ago I’d have laughed at you.

No allocation to third party agencies would be the first action if it was my choice. However it is claimed these licenced touts help shift tickets for less popular home games and get a share of the away tickets as a reward.
I'd get rid of them altogether and stand or fall on our own merits. It's not as though we need hundreds of ticket office staff to deal with additional in-house sales as 95% are done online.
Agree with this n’all.

City need to dig into the local area. We have enough fans in and around the Manchester, and commuting distance from Mcr, to fill a 70,000 stadium alone. It would just need to be driven and priced properly. Look at how many locals come along to the trophy parades, there must have been 200,000 there for the treble one.

The club’s focus simply hasn’t been on these people. But the danger is, when people my age are too old to go or dead, who’s going to be going to City games then? If we aren’t decent anymore, the tourists won’t want owt to do with us. And with no season tickets and too expensive tickets for locals, who’s going to be there?

No idea who the season ticket rep is?
Angela Worrell.

I contacted her after the first game when my mobile season card didn't work as usual, Got a standard email reply off her and nothing else, had to go down twice and 3 or 4 long phone calls before they finally agreed to give me an old style physical season card.

i think you’ve made a good point about the parade. 200+ thousand fans on a Monday night - the majority of them from greater Manchester as well. I bet most of the people who attended didn’t have season tickets.

I bumped into loads of blues I know have stopped attending games as well. Why on earth do the club not want those fans. We could fill the ground easy as you say.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Mancunian suite for the Liverpool game. Guess what it was full of Liverpool fans and non city fans!

Just for clarification, are you saying that if he was a Liverpool fan who got his phone out then that level of violence from blues would've been justified?

Now I'm not saying that you are saying that but that last line appears to imply it. Personally I think that level of violence is way OTT regardless of who it was who happened to get their phone out but I'm not sure anyone knew he was a City fan from America at the time. Not that that makes it any more excusable of course.
Time to put this to bed now. He was NOT a Blue. I'm in touch with one of the lads who got lifted (for no good reason other than being in the vicinity) and under interview he was told this at Pendlebury.

“he was American, liked both teams but prefered Liverpool. The only place he was able to purchase tickets was in that area of the ground”

The lad is a long standing trusted poster on here and he's asked me to correct some of the misinformation being put out on this forum.

Ta.

We're doing absolutely nothing of the sort. There is no rise that's acceptable to me as too many fans have already been priced out.

So seeing as you've clearly got an issue with what you perceive to be a lack of communication, what specifically do you want to know?

My comment was more that the club has already made it's mind up that they want to increase season ticket prices (with 9 increases in 10 years or whatever it is I think that's a safe assumption). Apologies if you got the impression I believed you would be siding with the club on this.

If we are just talking about season tickets.....

I think most fans would like to know how many season ticket holders we actually now have? I don't know why this has to be such a secret.

What number of season ticket holders does the club wish to reduce this to?

How many seats of the new stand will be allocated to new season ticket holders?

What is the hope of those of Flexi ever getting a standard season ticket?

Are the standard season tickets now a thing of the past?

If season tickets do become available, where and what is the waiting list?

They're just some off the top of my head. I'm actually more concerned about the matchday members despite being a season ticket holder.

Why are members enforced to have a 5 match criteria when there's clearly numerous groups in the ground that haven't reached this requirement? If they then win the lottery scramble to buy a ticket they invariably then have to sit by themselves.

Why are the club not transparent at the start of the season with ticket pricing?

Are the club intentionally making it that much harder for a matchday member to buy a ticket to put them off going altogether?

Why do the club insist on selling all the tickets at the start of the season when the prices for an individual ticket are extortiate? Therefore expecting individuals to cough up ridiculous sums of money months in advance despite not being certain of the dates and almost making it impossible to go as a family.

Why are our childen's prices so eye watering?

After season ticket holders what is the breakdown of the remaining seats in the stadium? I.e how many actually get listed on the official site for matchday members to purchase?

I have had a reply from the club regarding my complaint about being sat next to away fans for numerous games, particularly Liverpool and United:

Thanks for getting in touch. We take all feedback regarding fan safety concerns very seriously and we'll ensure your message is shared with the correct departments. The details regarding away supporters in these seats has been passed to our Ticket Compliance Department to add to their investigation.

We want all general admission tickets to be used by Manchester City fans so we can create the best possible atmosphere and experience for our fans while continuing to ensure a safe environment in the process.

To help with this, we include sales criteria for high-profile matches so tickets are prioritised for fans who have attended matches before, and our Ticket Compliance Department, as well as our Safety and Security Department, work proactively to identify any potential away ticketholders before, during and after the match.

Anyone who is found to break the terms and conditions of our ticket policy will have their ticket cancelled, and they will be subject to a ban in line with the Club’s sanctions and bans policy.

Thanks
Manchester City

Sales criteria is useless when they allow ticket websites to sell tickets because they don't have the same criteria

Must be a backlog for it to have taken this long for an auto-reply generic message like that. They don't care at all, they're taking the piss talking about Ticket Compliance department when we know all they're doing is spying on twitter trying to catch blues

That’s how it feels. Auto reply with no soul or feelings.
At the very least put a name to the email.
