That’s now 3 wins in our last 4 visits, a happy hunting ground. Getting back to beating them consistently in Manchester is now the concern. We actually won at Spurs what's not to.like?

Agree and var should be looking at the whole incident and not isolating the refs interpretation of a particular phase (handball against Erl) instead of seeing that a potential pen (2 spurs defenders possibly handling it ) maguires challenge on young instead of also looking at deligts challenge , Imo last night I didnt see the ref disallowing the goal I could of sworn he pointed towards the centre circle I may be wrong , watching numerous replays I dont even think Erl handled it as the law stands (chest upper arm at worst) goal shoudve stood if var told him not enough conclusive evidence to overule him ? wtf that even mean ? what happened to the var audio trial ? wasnt it rolled out for 1 game whats happened since ? after following us all over the country since 1975 Im drifting further and further away from the game I once loved."convoluted, dogmatic rules are spoiling perfectly good goals? What a mess."
This is a perfect description and applies to both the hand ball rules and the use of VAR.
The "clear and obvious" principle for a start is inherently flawed. One man's clear and obvious is another man's murky and obscure.
It could be so much simpler.
Really ? Absolute shit show all round !!
A ref needs a degree of agency or there is no real point in having one. Why not get AI to officiate? I accept the principle mentioned can be problematical but I would not say it is inherently flawed. I cannot discuss last nights incident as I have not seen it yet."convoluted, dogmatic rules are spoiling perfectly good goals? What a mess."

Agree. A future change should be that VAR is empowered to compute what the referee has physically seen and thus rule out what the referee has inferred.Let's start at the beginning with the disallowed goal. He couldn't possibly have seen that through 3 players and especially through Erls hand/body. You cannot guess, and he did.
Saw what he wanted to.

I think the Audio Trial was just that a trial. I expect some version of it will appear next August in the PLAgree and var should be looking at the whole incident and not isolating the refs interpretation of a particular phase (handball against Erl) instead of seeing that a potential pen (2 spurs defenders possibly handling it ) maguires challenge on young instead of also looking at deligts challenge , Imo last night I didnt see the ref disallowing the goal I could of sworn he pointed towards the centre circle I may be wrong , watching numerous replays I dont even think Erl handled it as the law stands (chest upper arm at worst) goal shoudve stood if var told him not enough conclusive evidence to overule him ? wtf that even mean ? what happened to the var audio trial ? wasnt it rolled out for 1 game whats happened since ? after following us all over the country since 1975 Im drifting further and further away from the game I once loved.
Game of 2 half’sSolid performance, especially in the first half. Happy with the 3 points. Not happy with our finishing, the ref or VAR !
I hope so we need to hear what the bent bastards are sayingI think the Audio Trial was just that a trial. I expect some version of it will appear next August in the PL
Strange that the referee only blew the whistle a few seconds after the goal was scored and Haaland was away in the corner celebrating. Why the delay? Why not blow the whistle when he "saw" the "handball" by Haaland.I’m no fan of the decision. But other than the ref ruling it out. What was wrong with the decision. It wasn’t clear that Haaland didn’t hand ball it, and by understanding they can’t look at the Spurs handballs as that decision wasn’t give. The VAR footage didn’t show any clear and obvious errors as far as I could see. If the ref gave the Haaland goal and VAR overruled it, it would have been a disgrace.
they said the same about semi auto offside still not been implemented , were playing in 3 different competitions all with different technology , carabao (no var until semis) CL (semi auto offside) fa cup ( var from the 5th round) games a fucking mess imoI think the Audio Trial was just that a trial. I expect some version of it will appear next August in the PL
So how can they disallow a goal, let’s say at Anfield, for a foul in the build up if the ref doesn’t penalise it at the time?It will be like the explanation for the Young non-penalty we saw at the weekend. VAR could only look at the decision made by the referee which was a penalty against Maguire for holding and overturn it. They couldn't give a penalty for the shirt pulling by de Ligt because he wasn't penalised by the referee but they could show the incident and let the referee make his own mind up. I don't know how long that has been a rule, but it's a coincidence it was applied favourably to United. I don't know how often a pitch side review leads to a referee maintaining his original decision, but it's also a coincidence that it favoured United this time.
Last night, they will say they couldn't look at the defensive handballs because that wasn't the decision given by the referee. It will be interesting to see if the referee checked for defensive handballs in his pitch side review, but it's a coincidence all this penalised City.
Is it any wonder people are falling out of love with the game when such convoluted, dogmatic rules are spoiling perfectly good goals? What a mess.
It's a simple game but ridiculous rules are draining it of its enjoyment.
That one still gratesSo how can they disallow a goal, let’s say at Anfield, for a foul in the build up if the ref doesn’t penalise it at the time?
