Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

anyone notice (maybe its just me mind being paranoid) that we seem to get blown for offside straight away, whilst others against us, dont?? how many have we seen stones and Co sprinting back and lunging into last ditch tackles risking injury only for the linesman to then put his bastard flag up!??!! or is it just me being a knob??
No it isn't - the law of averages dictates that one day somebody's career will be finished by a tackle where the entire crowd know that it's 5 yards offside, but a player who's been taught all his life to play to the whistle is just doing his job...

they said the same about semi auto offside still not been implemented , were playing in 3 different competitions all with different technology , carabao (no var until semis) CL (semi auto offside) fa cup ( var from the 5th round) games a fucking mess imo
This spot on,we need one form of VAR for all competitions and leagues with one set of rules..

Definitely by design nothing else for it ..

Or goes out for a corner and we end up conceding

I’m no fan of the decision. But other than the ref ruling it out. What was wrong with the decision. It wasn’t clear that Haaland didn’t hand ball it, and by understanding they can’t look at the Spurs handballs as that decision wasn’t give. The VAR footage didn’t show any clear and obvious errors as far as I could see. If the ref gave the Haaland goal and VAR overruled it, it would have been a disgrace.
Where does one start with this ? FFS

So fucking proud of the team last night.
Each and every one of them stood up when we were asked questions 2nd half. I myself have been critical of certain players over this season but no, they were all simply superb. Yes a few minor points main one being Savio one touch to many when he could shoot but he is dangerous.
Man of the match for me was Khusanov. What a player he is going to be for us. That tackle near the end of Jed Spence. Fucking hell had me out of my seat. Micah Richards eat your fucking words you daft ****.
Huge shout to Ederson from myself. Again has made a few errors this year but last night he was back to the Ederson we all know and love. That save from Son was fucking insane.
Doku again a real threat. If he can get those final balls on song he is a huge huge player for us.
Regarding the dissalowed goal. I do not even want to offer opinion other than Danso and Gray handballed it. On we go. Plenty still to go at.
4 or 5nin this summer. Get our King Rodri back on the pitch amd we go again

It should have either been a goal or a pen to us.
Thats what I saw.

Firstly I didnt know the ref had given handball. But it struck the oppositions players arm then Haalands chest (Not even sure about that) and he went through and scored. I saw that on the replay and I said at the time that VAR rules would mean they have to give the penalty rather than allow the goal.

tbh I think they just got confused in the VAR room, which is a feature that VAR has brought. Confusion.

Funny thing was watching the replays of the VAR review of the Haaland goal was they even checked to see if Haaland was offside in the first place ? HOW on earth does the Referee see a Handball by Haaland to cancel out the goal in the first place ? then VAR deem it to stay with the on-field referee ? Both Spurs players handle the ball, not Haaland ?

It was a Clear and Obvious error by the Referee and WHY the VAR team could not see what we had all seen was political and controlled by the officials of the Premier League

It was a shit show from start to finish and anyone defending it is talking horse shit !

I thought we played really well, especially first half when we created enough chances to be 3 or 4 nil clear.

We had 8 starters last night that have been at the club 2 seasons or less - 3 only signing in January.

Became clear our players were getting tired in the second half and subs did help (bar Bernardo trying to set Spurs up once) but we've played a lot of games recently, often relying on the same players.

Hopefully this re-shaped attack stays fit as Doku has been electric last couple of games.

Nunes had one of his best games for us.

Khusanov - beginning to excel now. Needs credit for coming into the team during this run of games and steadying himself. Will be really exciting to see if he can build partnership with Dias.

The initial contact with Haaland was above his sleeve. Ergo not hand ball.

There was no evidence that the ball hit Haaland’s hand/arm.

Surely the bar has to be that there is an offence, not that there isn’t an offence.

It’s a clear and obvious error.

Good win against on of the worst Spuds sides I remember watching. Yet it took them just 5% increase in energy to take the game to us and we almost wobbled.
I see this team only as a way to survive to the end of the season and to qualify for the CL , which is more important to us than many here believe it is. Anything beyond that, I have no clue what Pep's plans are, but I don't see any rebuild with the profile of these players.

Don't bring the Earl of Wessex into this.

Strange that the referee only blew the whistle a few seconds after the goal was scored and Haaland was away in the corner celebrating. Why the delay? Why not blow the whistle when he "saw" the "handball" by Haaland.

You would also think he saw the two handballs by the spurs players as well considering that his eyesight is so good. Or maybe not? Maybe his eyesight is unreliable and he only saw one of the three handballs and thought it was Haalands hand?
Exactly! What sort of advantage was he giving Spurs by allowing the game to continue after he saw the handball?

Or is this another of those "close offside" type decisions where they see the offence (or what they believe might be an offence), allow the game to carry on because they aren't sure, what pans out, pans out, and then if necessary VAR clears it all up?

Can't remember us having too many "pulled back after scoring due to tight offside that VAR later sees" disallowals, probably due to tight offsides somehow being conclusively seen in our games. Bang! Yep He's offside by 5cm, I saw him!
