Finishing 2nd in the league with this squad in its current state would arguably be right up there with Pep’s greatest achievements at City
Not sure he would agree. Qualification for CL is crucial and that is the main goal now, one I feel increasingly confident we will attain. We have two other outstanding competitions to deal with too. Both of which we can now feel more confident of winning. The two big questions hanging over this season for me is that piddling issue of the 115 and the impact that the competition in the States will have on the early part of next season.

It’s really strange not being top of the PL & having to fight for 4th place this year. We’re so used to winning the league it feels wrong!!
Makes you realise what a sensational - unprecedented- few years we’ve had.
What a club. We’ll be back next season - hopefully with a couple more trophies in the cupboard from this season.

Arsenal have a harder fixture list and if they progress in Europe I see them dropping a lot of points. We are 7 behind with an inferior goal difference but if we finish the season strongly we might reel them in. Anything against Forest at their place and we get past them too. Second is now there for the taking if we are more consistent.

Fighting for 2nd in my world :)

Don’t get giddy! Third would be great this season. The chances of catching Arsenal are very very slim (6.5%) and it doesn’t really matter as long as we finish in a CL spot.

I’d take 5th, if it qualified us, and winning the FA Cup over 2nd and not winning a trophy. It would be nice to smash United on the way to winning it too although I’m looking to Fulham to do them for us.

Bournemouth have a nice run there. We will be ok for top 4 as long as Haaland stays fit.

Bournemouth and Forest have decent runs, but their problem is inexperience.

Villa had this problem last season because in their last 11 games - near enough to where we currently stand at the moment - they won only 3, lost 4 and drew 4. That Arsenal win away from home got them CL amazingly and won us the league.

I was just thinking the same thing and strangely we might have been worse off (in terms of league position) if it had been the other way round and we'd beaten Liverpool and Arsenal but lost to Newcastle and Chelsea
We'd still have the same points, lower position in the league but closer to the teams in 1st and 2nd.
Its a funny old game.
