A few posters on here have said that Trump and Vances’s attack on Zelensky may have been a planned mugging. Well, you may well be on the money, because that’s exactly what Jeremy Bowen has said on the BBC News.

I think you’re right most would love that but there’s no way the EU and the rest of Europe will take a united stand.

It was nothing to do with a deal, obviously.

It was about bullying, partly for revenge, partly because that's Trump's mafioso MO, partly because they want Putin to win and threaten democracy, which they hate.

We won’t withdraw the offer, but we may suddenly find it difficult to schedule an exact date, King’s health, blah, blah.

You would expect/hope that we know how to play this game.
 
Seriously, time for Europe to step up.

Then all this politicking from the Trump Administration won't matter a jot.
