No, definitely not.

People have to understand that the old rules of diplomacy don't apply anymore.

Trump, Vance an Co, are not politicians, just grifters and opportunists and should be treated as such. I'm glad Zelensky raised his voice and tried to stand his ground, it's the only thing these low life's understand. If he had shown any weakness, he'd have played right into their hands.

Everything about this meeting was staged to manufacture the end result, which the media lapped up..............before they move on to the next topic of interest.

Trump and Vance were like a couple of school bullies trying to rob a kid of their pocket money. The 'real' people of America must surely be so ashamed of what they witnessed today.
 
When they say that Ukraine is already completely destroyed, Ukrainian soldiers are fleeing, that they are not heroes, millions of civilians have died, and the President is a dictator. What can be the reaction? Where is the friendship between the USA and Ukraine? I have said it many times - be correct with the numbers, every person is important, we do not have millions of losses, these are not just territories, these are houses and people's lives, I do not think that repeating the same thing is good for partners, - Zelensky on the reasons for the heated conversation with Vance and Trump in an interview with the Fox News channel.

Sadly Zelensky needs to realise he was thrown under the bus yesterday, get Europe onside, fuck trump and vance, let them come begging.

Why was all these conferences played out live? With the media? Surely they spoke away from the media spotlight? Why was Macron Starmer and Zelenskyy all turn up separately? Why not all get in a room to talk away from the media first? Seems all staged!

Last night was staged , a co-ordinated ambush which appeals to the millions of maga twats . Trumps ego , with a puppet like Vance and a huge political backing from home , makes him not far behind putin for lack of stability for world peace .
He is a **** of the highest order and destroyed 80 years of mutual safety net of world security in a month
 
Seems like Europe will have to go it alone and support Ukraine for as long as it takes. The alternative is Russia rolls in further and then some peace deal is signed on Russias terms in the next year or so. Then Russia goes for the baltic states while Trump is still in power, knowing full well he won't support them via NATO. Not a great situation at all.

Agree with all that and have just watched the complete 50 minute broadcast, MSM here only showing last angry outburst. There is more to all this. We need to stop being the poodle again (thinking of Blair).

Fair enough - but you miss the key point about Trump - facts don't matter at all.

Zelenski - love him as a leader - might not be the best figure to deal with Trump.

Flatter Trump... praise Trump... kiss his butt... but be extremely wary of him. That's the way to deal with Trump.

Huge mistake for Zelenski to appear in front of cameras to negotiate the rare earth minerals deal.

Give them what they need in weapons, the deal that the US wanted on Ukraine’s precious metals why can’t Europe be offering something similar but on better terms for Ukraine? Cut America out of the picture and sideline them, they need to understand that being isolationist when there’s threats from the likes of China and Russia is not going to help anyone long term.

If Trump become president all of sudden attack Putin that puts Putin in a no win situation and you don't want to put Putin in a no win situation if you look at his history what he did what he went through he is a psycho! Let's see how it all pans out in the next weeks, we may see what is really being played out..

Personally I think Trump wants Zelensky out and a new President in who will agree with his deal. After all I think that’s the only deal Ukraine will get.

I agree, it's just whether Europe can offer the military level of support needed in the short term, before they rebuild their militaries. But I'm no expert.
