Cant help thinking there's still an underlying problem. His technical ability and how cleanly he strikes a ball has been above anyone we've seen in the premier league. That shouldn't just disappear regardless of age, especially at 33.

The burst of pace, yes, thats clearly gone and he will have to adapt his game for that, but he should still be able to ping passes and fire off shots.
May be he's just tired and lost the love of the game, he had a long career with a lot of injuries.

Two bad ankle issues the first during the century season really changed him for me.

Won everything there is to win in the domestic game so his hunger as with others is not there anymore as it’s very difficult to get up for another title defence . I can’t bring myself to say anything negative about him as he had been t he greatest for me and I’m still torn with wanting him to go .

Almost as sad as watching Colin’s attempted comeback. You want him to go on for another season he wants to but the pain is watching him and especially on TV when you can almost sense his personal frustration across his face

As an aside to suggest because he’s won everything and therefore ain’t that bothered is absolute bollocks

I watched the Liverpool game again and KDB was not bad in the first half. I think KDB can still play at the highest level but you need to have hardworking players around him and he probably can't play every three days. If he goes to MLS, he will make that league look like a joke.

It's been coming for two seasons. A few of us have said as much on here for months and have been shouted down.
It's just become more obvious now. Even the most blue tinted happy clappers must see that he's finished at PL level.

I’ve been saying for a year or two that - considering his very obvious frailty - he was vastly overplayed by both club and country. He never had a chance to recuperate.

Reminds me in some ways of those sad charity adverts where some pathetic, broken donkey is flogged by his peasant owner and forced to struggle on.

Except the donkey doesn’t earn £20m a year, its owner isn’t on the breadline and the beast doesn’t have professional medics supposedly fighting its corner.

So I guess it’s just business, where each party extracts the maximum and ends up enriched.

I find it so hard to criticise KDB just because of how much joy he has given me over the years. He still works hard on the pitch and tries to make things happen.

Sexy bastard strutting his stuff tonight

Like a footballing John Travolta
