Plymouth Argyle (H) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Just got back. My little one’s (4) second game, loved it.

A long day with the fanzone (which is brilliant!) beforehand but worth it. He was desperate to see Haaland so was buzzing to see him get the assist right in front of us at the end.

Onto the next!

The game played out exactly as I anticipated it would in the best case scenario after seeing the lineup. Boring sleep inducing football and ended up relying on set pieces to get through. A wins a win but pep has to see he can't put out a side without a man that can actually take somebody on going forward. Going with grealish and bernardo on the wings was asking for a tough night.

Jobs done, great for O'Reilly bagginf a brace and we got to see the ICO trinity of nico, nico and Rico on the pitch together on to the next one, Preston please but I'd take fulham.

Reis was class
Rico needs finishing lessons
Gundo still breaks into the box like no other 8
would love to never see that winger pairing or False 9 again ever.
Kev waving goodbye?
Corner takers are still terrible.

Job Done.. Next.

Made it harder than it should have been.Their keeper had a great game.
SS1 today hardly heard their support.
Name is in the draw.Move on.

Just got back home from the match with my little one he loved it. Also had tickets for the kids fan zone thing beforehand which was excellent and he really enjoyed that too - fair play to the club for putting that on fantastic for the young ones.

As for the game itself was entertaining enough for the neutral - even though they went in front always felt the pressure from City would tell. I was sat in the north stand lower and really enjoyed some of Grealish's touches second half. Hope for your and England's sake he can find his top form again. Foden was quiet - couple of half chances but largely out of the game. Hopefully if we get through tomorrow we can avoid you lot.

Personally I thought Plymouth were utter donkey spunk, always going to be tight in first half when they’ve got energy, but the stats sum up the game - 29 shots with 9 clear cut chances against them scoring from the only time they got within spitting distance of our goal.

Job done to perfection, bar the injury to Ake.

Would love to play you in a final again, but like 1976, would love to win via a worldie. ;)

No more fucking around please Pep in the quarters with team selection or we'll be out regardless who we draw. We need to look like we're serious about winning this cup, but that first half was fucking shite which a lot thought it would be myself included.
Well done Nico for getting in the right place for his two goals, I'd like to see him get a start in his natural position in a prem game, he is the future of City. Hopefully we avoid Villa and Palace in the quarters

Don’t think listening to you for football analysis would even be beneficial to the likes of Rooney, never mind Pep.

So many negative comments on the match thread, pathetic really. We were in control and won, unlike Brentford and Liverpool. Grow up children
It also wasn’t that surprising of a game which pretty much played out similar to the one against Orient.

Reis looks class, legs like springs, the height he was jumping for headers was unbelievable.

Nice to see us score from a corner too, I can't remember the last time we scored from one.

Congratulations to O'Reilly, scoring a brace at any level from fullback is some achievement, him Reis and Khusanov bear well for the future defensively and boy do we need it.

Looking at who's left in this comp I'll be disappointed if we don't at least make the final because it's been a long time since the season was over before May

Good performance, annoying to concede with their first and only shot on target. Another match where we could and should have put the game to bed long before we actually did.
O'Reilly was very good both defensively and in attack, his second header was well directed. Grealish was very good too, at least he moved forward but he passed up a few chances to shoot. We do make hard work of shooting at times.
KDB had a good second half but I thought Foden was mostly anonymous and Bernardo showed a few good touches but then a fair few bad ones.
They were defensively very solid but we marshalled them well in defensive, very well supported though.
